It’s been a difficult season, one that included the cancelation of the high school season, tons of players coming and going, and an overall lack of playing opportunities. Despite that and thanks to yeomen efforts from coaches, I’ve been fortunate to see a ton of players and learn some new names. In this article, we take a look at some of the fresh faces on the list.
Robert Gibson Robert Gibson 6'4" | PF Durango | 2022 State NV 6’4 PF Durango #32 – I love glue guys and Gibson might be the best in the state. I’ve watched for months now as the undersized 4 man has sacrificed his body to help his squad win. Excellent low post defender, to go along with his high IQ help defense.
Jack Silberman Jack Silberman 6'4" | SF Faith Lutheran | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Faith Lutheran #51 – Silberman can flat out shoot the ball. His value is an accurate floor spacer, that can change the scoreboard with his ability to make 3’s.
Maddox Polk Maddox Polk 6'0" | SG Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 6’0 SG CSN #55 – Polk who takes classes at the College of Southern Nevada plays during the grassroots season with Prep Hoops Circuit team Hard 2 Guard. The lefty is a corner 3 point specialist, who makes the list because of his consistent shooting last summer and this fall.
Desean Moreno Desean Moreno 6'4" | PF Spring Valley | 2022 State NV 6’4 SF Spring Valley #58 – Moreno looks the part. He has long limbs and is a fluid runner. The slasher has figured out how to use his size and length to score when playing downhill.
David Estes David Estes 6'7" | PF Basic | 2022 State NV 6’7 PF Basic #59 – I’ve seen some flashes from Estes. The 4 man loves to step outside and stretch the floor. He has decent ball skills and isn’t afraid to put it on the ground to create for himself. A potential sleeper, Estes is just scratching the surface of putting his skills together with his size.
