Wilson Prep took home the 1A Championship with a comeback win while Farmville Central dominated the 2A Championship to make it three rings in a row for the Jags. The 3A Championship title game would go to Weddington HS while the 4A crown matchup went into overtime with Millbrook HS getting their first state championship.
Northwood HS Freshman Forward Jarin Stevenson Jarin Stevenson 6'8" | SF Seaforth | 2024 #14 Nation NC did not allow the big time moment of a state championship game keep him from being productive. He got off to a slower start but settled in nicely, finishing with thirteen points, six rebounds and five assist on the day, using his height and wingspan to make plays in the paint.
Weddington HS Junior Guard Chase Lowe Chase Lowe 6'4" | SF Weddington | 2022 State NC made his impact on the game in various ways, scoring the ball at a nice rate, finishing with fourteen points. The 6’5 PG got to his spots without much of an issue and was just as productive facilitating and rebounding as he was scoring, dishing out five assist and pulling down seven rebounds.
Wilson Prep Unsigned Senior Forward/Center Eric Wynn Eric Wynn 6'9" | C Wilson Prep | 2021 State NC was a difference maker in the second half, using his size to dominate in the paint scoring and rebounding. Wynn was comfortable making plays with his back to the basket offensively and rebounding on both ends of the floor, scoring seventeen points while snatching down ten rebounds.
Farmville Central & NC State signee Guard Terquavion Smith Terquavion Smith 6'3" | CG Farmville Central | 2021 State #105 Nation NC didn’t have his best day shooting the ball but made a nice impact on the game with his rebounding and passing, almost finishing the game with a triple double. Smith is always on the attack, which creates a headache for defenses and he plays the game with a passion that you love to see from a youngster.
Hendersonville HS Sophomore Guard Keenan Wilkins Keenan Wilkins 5'11" | PG Christ School | 2024 State NC is a young talent but the potential he has to be special was on display Saturday in their Championship game against Farmville. Wilkins doesn’t back down from challenges, shoots the ball well from deep range, and handles the ball well under pressure. His team came up short but Hendersonville will be a team to keep an eye on for next year as well, they return their two leading scorers who both average over twenty points per game.
Farmville Central Sophomore Wing Jah Short Jah Short 6'4" | CG Farmville Central | 2023 State NC is a name that you should already have written down and he showed why during the state championship game. He constantly is working on the boards, getting after it on the defensive side of the ball, and using his defense to help Farmville get out into transition for fast break buckets. His athleticism is what may catch your attention early on but don’t be fooled, he’s a solid all-around player and prospect to keep a close eye on.
Ardrey Kell Senior Guard Knoah Carver Knoah Carver 6'2" | SF Charlotte Country Day | 2021 State NC picked up right where he left off in the Regional Championship game, knocking down the trey ball at a high rate, providing the offense that his team needed. Carver is another player that plays with energy and passion every time he steps on the floor, doesn’t shy away from big time moments, and has deep range on his shot which should allow him to transition to the next level smoothly.
Millbrook HS Junior Guard Silas Demary Jr was tremendous for Millbrook down the stretch of this game, providing the scoring for the squad when their offense seemed to go a bit stagnant. Demary came up with one of the best plays of the day, coming up with a steal and a bucket with just seconds remaining to give Millbrook the final lead.
