Ethan Slaathaug Ethan Slaathaug 6'3" | SG Hayfield | 2021 State MN will become the first player to hit the cover of Playoff Central twice this year after he led his team to state scoring a nice round 40 points against Southland. The Vikings needed nearly all 40 as well beating the Rebels 78-72. Sophomore guard Isaac Matti Isaac Matti 6'1" | SG Hayfield | 2023 State MN had 23 in support.
Upset City. There were few true upsets last night but two seed Glencoe-Silver Lake knocked off Jordan 92-81. One of the state’s top juniors (and top football prospects) Mitchel Jaskowiak Mitchel Jaskowiak 6'4" | PF Glencoe-Silver Lake | 2022 State MN scored 36 points attacking the Jordan frontcourt relentlessly. This is a player that recently had a 45 point, 15 rebound game against Rockford and he will likely finish his career well above 1,500 career points. What’s next for GSL? Waseca.
The Big Stage. There are 14 games tonight that are state tournament qualifiers. Here are your top six games to keep an eye on:

- Richfield vs South St. Paul
- Cooper vs Wayzata
- Hibbing vs Princeton
- Austin vs Byron
- Chaska vs Shakopee
Players To Watch. In one of the biggest games of the night, Deer River out-scored North Woods 89-83. Junior Ty Morrison Ty Morrison 6'4" | SF Deer River | 2022 State MN had a double double that not only gave him 30 points in a game again, he also broke the school assist record. Morrison and the Warriors next face Nashwauk-Keewatin for the right to play in state.
Tip of the Hat to the Career. The second best senior in Minnesota Will Tschetter Will Tschetter 6'8" | PF Stewartville | 2021 State #96 Nation MN of Stewartville had his season and career come to an end last night. The depth of Caledonia was too much pushing the Warriors to a 78-61 victory. Tschetter had 29 points and 10 rebounds in the loss and finished his senior year averaging 31 points and 11 rebounds. Will’s next game will be next year playing for the Michigan Wolverines.
