Chaminade defeated St. Mary’s 65 – 47
Here are the players that not only performed in this game but were integral pieces in getting their teams to this final.
St. Mary’s was led all season by the terrific trio of Darius Coleman (2022) Jackson McCeachern (2022) and Jaedon Hutchinson(2023) Many times this year one of these three led them to victory, when all three are on, they are hard to beat.
Darius had to endure all sorts of defenses to stop him, all season long. He can score in bunches. Tremendous feel for the game. Sees the floor really well. Makes players around him better. A tremendous talent.
Jackson in this game showed his quick first step. Chaminade guarded him real well. He was crafty with the ball and made some good decisions. Can get to the basket off the bounce.
Jaedon going into next year, he showed teams will have to know where he is on the floor. Lights out shooter. He displayed unlimited range hitting 3 threes.
Chaminade was led by the senior leadership of Cooper Francis. But the future is bright with sophomore Dave DeBusschere and junior Deepuk Edmonds. Both players showed poise, patience, and tremendous skill set in leading Chaminade. In a short season, both players matured quickly.
Cooper had 18 points. He showed his outstanding leadership qualities. Cooper does everything well. Can guard multiple positions and did an outstanding job in this game. Has a nice mid-range game and can step out and hit the three. A winning player for a college program
Deepuk might very well be one of the top players in the league next season. A 6”6 hybrid forward. A very hard matchup.
Dave DeBusschere burst onto the scene in a big way. Already as a sophomore might be one of the best plain shooters in this league. Showing his range in this game he hit 5 threes. Comes off of screens well and has a nice rotation on his ball.
