Continue ReadingThe regular season has come and gone and it is now time for the Indiana High School Post-Season. In the coming weeks, we at PrepHoops Indiana plan on bringing you the best coverage in the state during this fun time. Let us take a look at some of the top prospects from Tuesday’s Sectional 15 games in Seymour.
Bedford North Lawrence: vs Seymour
Ben Cosner – 6’3 2021 W/F: Cosner has been real hot as of late coming into this game. This game, however, he was constantly fighting foul trouble so really could not get in rhythm on the offensive end. Was real aggressive attacking the basket early on and had a few stops on the defensive end. Ended up fouling out but you can almost expect him to have a much better performance on Friday. Huge piece for the Stars.
Kooper Staley – 6’2 2021 SG: Staley had a pretty solid game here. Made some great passes that led to easy points and made a couple of big shots. Best play of the game was at the very beginning of the second half where he got a rare And1 3-pointer. Defense has really picked up as well as he had a couple of steals. Finished with 11 points.
Jackson Miracle Jackson Miracle 6'5" | SF Bedford North Lawrence | 2021 State IN – 6’5 2021 PF: This was one of Miracle’s best games I have seen him play. Did a great job of getting in the right spot on offensive end converting the easy feeds to him. Had a couple of And1s and did a great job of getting to the foul line. Just had so many great looks off of passes. Had a block as well. If he can duplicate this performance on Friday than that will be a huge advantage for BNL. Finished with 13 points.
Colten Leach – 6’1 2023 PG/SG: Took awhile but Leach finally got himself in the game in the second half. Was attacking the rim like he is known for and did a much better job getting his teammates involved on the drive. Got in foul trouble so will need to clean that up on Friday. Finished with 15 points.
Colton Staggs – 6’1 2023 PG: Staggs played a solid game in this one. Had a couple of great drives and was huge getting to the foul line and converting. Much more aggressive now on both ends and is making high quality plays. Real good at not turning the ball over and finding his teammates for buckets. Staggs continues his stretch of great games with this 8 point performance.
Seymour: vs Bedford North Lawrence
Marcus Brooks – 6’3 2022 SF: Real impressed with Brooks in this game. Taller wing with a smooth and controlled playing style. Has a nice jumper, especially on the baseline. Great size and is player that will be big for Seymour moving forward. Potential to make some real strides in his game. Finished with 6 points.
Eli Meyer Eli Meyer 6'4" | SF Seymour | 2023 State IN – 6’3 2023 SF: Meyer was the best player for the Owls in this game. Aggressive player with good size and strength. Not really an outside type player as he normally sticks around the post area. Was easily the best rebounder and battled his tail off every play. Finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Needs to continue to work on his game and fine-tune some things to match with his tough mindset.
Charlie Longmeier – 5’10 2023 PG: Longmeier is a shorter lead guard. Very traditional point guard that will look to pass before he ever thinks to score. Does has some scoring ability as he does look to drive from time to time. Tough defender and guards the wing well. Want to see him become a little more aggressive in the scoring department these next two years. Finished with 3 points.
Landon Fritsch – 6’2 2023 SG: Fritsch is a taller yet quick wing. Known for being a solid shooter off the dribble, BNL really did a good job of containing him this game. This was a rare game where he did not get in rhythm as seen in the past. Athletic player that usually scorers at a high level. Finished with just 2 points. Will be in for a big offseason.
Jennings County: vs Jeffersonville
Jacob Vogel – 6’8 2022 PF: Vogel is a massive post prospect with legit size. Jeff really had no answers for him down low as he got some pretty easy looks to the basket. Grabs a ton of rebounds and can even stretch the floor a little. Want to see quicker feet from him to take his game to next level. Also was a little too passive and was thinking just a bit too much here. Adding quickness all over will take his game to new heights.
Keegan Manowitz – 5’7 2023 PG: Manowitz is a quick and tough lead guard. Capable scorer and loves to shoot off the pull-up. Did not have the best of night scoring wise but was making great passes. Not afraid to get in there and battle amongst the bigger players. As he starts to get more and more mature, he is going to be one of the more underrated PGs in the state.
Owen Law – 6’0 2023 PG: Law is a taller and lanky wing. Sticks out in the wing area and plays to his strengths more often than not. Good shooter off the catch and has the ability to become more of a sharpshooter as he continues to develop his game. Still struggles a little bit on creating his own shot but overall I like him to become a reliable 3-point specialist these next two years.
Jeffersonville: vs Jennings County
Brandon Rayzer-Moore Brandon Rayzer-Moore 6'4" | SG Jeffersontown | 2020 IN – 6’5 2022 W: Rayzer-Moore had a great game here. His jumpers were hitting and he was pretty much scoring from wherever he wanted too. His great athleticism helps him on both ends and really gives him advantage on the defensive end as he can guard wherever. Lot of potential in him as a player and his talent really brings that out. Finished with 16 points.
Will Lovings-Watts Will Lovings-Watts 6'5" | SF Jeffersonville | 2022 State IN – 6’5 2022 SF: Lovings-Watts had a solid game here. Did not have to do a whole lot as his teammates were really helping him out on the scouring end. So good at running the baseline and not rushing anything ever. Started to look like his natural scoring self in the second half. Overall, solid performance from this elite prospect.
Kobe Stoudemire Kobe Stoudemire 5'9" | PG Jeffersonville | 2022 State IN – 5’9 2022 PG: Stoudemire had a really good game here. He brings a lot of energy on the floor and can do whatever is asked of him. His court vison is at a high level and knows if he needs to score or pass it off. Really good 3-point shooter and does a great job of creating for himself. One of the better guards I have seen play this season even with his shorter size.
