Jack Hutchinson Jack Hutchinson 6'1" | CG Washburn Rural | 2021 State KS , 6’2 Guard, Washburn Rural (Pictured): Hutchinson is a puzzling case as to why more schools are not al over him. A great student in the classroom and a really solid game overall. He has the intangibles necessary to be a highly effective guard at the next level with his leadership capability, competitiveness, and a leading member for teams that won a bunch of games. Skill wise, he was the elite shooter of the Centennial League from behind the 3 point line, has a lethal floater game in the mid range, and is a good ball handler against pressure. Another underrated aspect of his game is how he kicks the ball up the court to open teammates and his basketball IQ. Was a second team All Centennial League member.
Javon Grant Javon Grant 5'11" | PG Pittsburg | 2021 State KS , 5’11 Guard, Pittsburgh: Grant is a tremendous scorer from all over the floor, with a pull up game from the mid range and from three, can knock down shots off catch and shoots, and attacks the rim with aggression and effectiveness. In big games, he was especially gifted, as he would elevate his play to the next level. A consistent 30 point scorer night in and night out, Grant also showcased some playmaking ability in the assist game and rebounded the ball well from the lead guard spot. This electric and dynamic guard should have a home to play college ball in soon.
Josh Broxterman Josh Broxterman 6'2" | PF Jefferson West | 2021 State KS , 6’3 Wing, Jeff West: Broxterman came back from a tough knee injury in the prior season to be an effective leader and scorer of the basketball for a Jeff West team that came on late in the season. He has a solid build and good length to play on the perimeter, and shot the ball from 3 pretty consistently throughout his career. He is a solid straight line driver, cutter, and offensive rebound put back finisher as well. In transition he has the ability to get up and play at the rim finishing over the top or dunking the basketball. Showed some more of an aggressive nature as the season progressed highlighted with a 20+ point half in their sub state win over Nemaha Valley.
Corey Powell Corey Powell 6'4" | PF Highland Park | 2021 State KS , 6’5 Forward, Highland Park: “CJ” might be getting overlooked or thought about too much, because the kid can play and has great size and athleticism to make a school pretty happy. He can fill a variety of needs, with some perimeter scoring, being physical inside, a zone buster in the mid to high post, and pushing the break as a guard. HE had a couple of eye popping highlight dunks this season which shows he got some of his spring back in him after an early season injury. Powell was the driving force for an extremely successful Scotts team this season. Has a great personality and focus for the game of basketball and should have a solid career somewhere.
Harlan Obioha Harlan Obioha 7'0" | C Hoxie | 2021 State KS , 7’ Center, Hoxie: The Hoxie big man will be an intriguing signee wherever he ends up. He has great hands and footwork in the post, does not get bothered by smaller guys digging in the post, and can pass out of the post pretty well. Obioha can run the floor, and with a little more physicality added to his game could be a great rim runner at the next level. He uses his body well to establish position on both ends of the floor and has the hands to go make plays without stumbling and fumbling the basketball. Obioha finished his career with a 30+ point, 10+ rebound effort in the state tournament and will be a big time get for whatever program he ends up at.
