Continue ReadingThe PrepHoops Circuit made its long-awaited return to the West Coast this weekend. The Hustle Season Kickoff runs from Saturday, March 27th through Sunday, March 28th, and featured 45 programs ranging from 15 to 17U. Several players used the stage to make their presence known. In this article, we take a look at the day 1 standouts from the event.
Aaron Price Aaron Price 6'7" | PF Liberty | 2022 State NV 6’7 SF West Coast Select 2022 – Thought he was the most dominant player I saw today. Price’s size, length, and athleticism were unmatched. He spent most of the day, using all of those tangible gifts to punish the rim. He played with a relentless motor, scoring in transition and off offensive boards. IMO, his ability to defend every position on the floor makes him a D1 player right now.
Dom Girish Dom Girish 6'2" | CG Sonoma Valley | 2022 State CA 6’2 SG NBBA Black 2022 – Girish received a lot of love today and he deserved every bit of it. The star of our game of the day led NBBA back from a 17 point second-half deficit, with lethal 3 point shooting. The 2 guard moves well without the ball, and as is evident by his 3 point shooting, is a threat to change the scoreboard whenever he finds himself open behind the line.
Joshua Jefferson Joshua Jefferson 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2022 State #158 Nation NV 6’6 PF West Coast Select 2022 – The Jefferson|Price combo was almost unfair. He controlled the backboards today, grabbing any rebound in the vicinity. Jefferson used a combination of dribble drives and post moves to get his buckets. He finished with a game-high of 24 in his first game of the day.
Jordan Williams 6’5 PF Cal Elite Anthony 2022 – I enjoyed Williams’ energy and motor. He used his quick 1st and 2nd jump ability, to keep balls alive. He gave his squad numerous second chance opportunities and ran the floor like an Olympic sprinter. Williams used his activity and caught and finished well around the rim.
John Connelly 6’6 SF Team Build Up 2021 – Connelly is playing as an unsigned senior, which is a travesty. The long wing sniper has proven that at his worse, he is a knock-down 3 point shooter. That skill combined with his size warrants a scholarship somewhere. Behind his play, TBU was dominant. Connelly buried four 3’s in one game. helping Build Up to a 30 point victory.
Jalen Foy Jalen Foy 6'5" | SF Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 6’5 SF Hard 2 Guard 2022 – Foy was efficient today. When he’s making shots, he becomes an entirely different player, and today, he made shots! Foy shot it effortlessly from behind the line, igniting H2G to a 2-0 start to the circuit season. He also showed off his floor game, setting up teammates for easy buckets. Foy finished with 16 in a win over Hardwork Dedication.
