Orlando Lovejoy Orlando Lovejoy 6'3" | CG 1 of 1 Prep | 2022 State NC (2022, CG, Summit Academy)
This young man is the real deal and a big time prospect. We all know that he’s an electrifying scorer, bit it was his passing that stood out to me. He showed a nice shovel pass that that he delivered on a string with 1 hand. Lovejoy also had a no look bouncer into the lane that created a scoring opportunity for a teammate. He was one of the most on point and effective passers that I’ve watched this season. Of course, Lovejoy scored as well. On a deep triple, he showed a seamless transition from the catch to the shooting motion
Dontez Scott (2024, PG, Summit Academy)
I see what the hype is about with Scott. His defense was his most impressive attribute when I saw him. Scott played intense chest to chest defense and really pressured the ball handler. He had very quick feet and kept a low base. On offense, I really liked how quickly he built up speed with the ball and the energy he brought.
Raevon Thomas (2022, PF, Summit Academy)
Thomas seemed to really understand how to play off Lovejoy. He did a nice job staying pass ready and shot ready when the guards created off the dribble. Thomas was active around the rim and created second chance opportunities.
Linden Holder Linden Holder 6'0" | PG De La Salle | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, De La Salle)
Holder is such a high IQ and efficient basketball player. He’s quick down the floor with the ball and doesn’t like to let the defense set up. Holder can drive and dish and plays through contact. His 3 point shot looked very much improved. Holder seemed confiden and thorough with his stroke.
Caleb Reese (2022, CG, De La Salle)]
Reese is FAST! He can really catch the defense off guard and make them turn their hips and chase. Reese plays north-south at a fast pace and makes quick and confident decisions.
Michael Saluka (2023, PF, De La Salle)
Saluka is going to be an impact post player over the next few years. He just keeps growing and keeps improving. He walled up on the interior, making the offense adjust around him. Saluka caught the ball high and didn’t bring it down before he put it back up. He showed soft hands and touch around the rim, as well as a mid range baseline jumper.
Nino Smith Nino Smith 6'0" | CG Warren De La Salle | 2023 State MI (2023, CG, De La Salle)
We need to have Nino Smith Nino Smith 6'0" | CG Warren De La Salle | 2023 State MI ranked higher. He keeps defenders on his hips and at bay. Smith is a springy player that seemed to like to advance the ball with the dribble. He finished efficiently at the rim and hit the floor making hustle plays. Smith showed a lot of leadership on the court as well.
