Mark Bogner, senior, Erie:
Bogner is a versatile guard who can really pour it in from the perimeter. The college-bound golfer has 10 games with three or more 3-pointers. He’s averaging 13.4 points and 3.5 rebounds a game. He was an honorable mention pick in 2A as a junior.
Luke Detwiler Luke Detwiler 5'11" | PG Lyndon | 2021 State KS , senior, Lyndon:
The director of the Tigers attack, Detwiler earned honorable mention 2A last year. He’s a capable scorer, as can be seen from his numerous games with 15 or more points. But he really excels running the offense, pushing the tempo, finding open teammates, and playing gritty defense.
Brayden Meseke Brayden Meseke 6'0" | CG Wabaunsee | 2022 State KS , junior, Wabaunsee:
Meseke isn’t a typical guard-type. He’s solidly built and uses his physicality to create space, get to the goal, and harass opposing guards on defense. He’s been an effective scorer of late, with 22 against Mission Valley and St. Marys. Wabaunsee is a fascinating club in the state playoffs. They have a losing record (11-12) and could easily have tanked the season. But showing character and resilience, the Chargers stayed the course, got healthy, and rolled through sub-state. Meseke was key to holding things together.
Brekyn Ratzlaff Brekyn Ratzlaff 6'0" | PG Hillsboro | 2023 State KS , sophomore, Hilsboro:
The slippery point guard earned honorable mention 2A as a freshman and is growing by leaps and bounds. He is great with the ball in the open court and has the cool presence to keep his head up and direct the action. He’s capable both from the perimeter and scoring in the open court. He gained a ton of experience playing on an elite club squad over the summer.
Eli Wiseman Eli Wiseman 5'8" | CG Belle Plaine | 2021 State KS , senior, Belle Plaine:
The senior was first-team 2A a year ago. He averaged 19 points and 5.9 assists as a junior, and is back with more experience and talent around him. He’s taken his scoring up a notch, averaging about 26 points per game this year, and blasting Garden Plain with 37 in the sub-state final.
