Several young players who contributed to their high school teams this year are looking to plant themselves firmly on the radar of college coaches this spring. In this article, we take a look at some potential Spring Stockrisers.
Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT 6’4 SG Farmington|Utah Prospects 2022 (#3PHU 2022) (featured image) – Perhaps low hanging fruit, as Chandler has already seen his stock rise. However, he currently only holds two power 5 offers. While that may sound like a lot, a combo guard with his athleticism, size, and playmaking should be in high demand. Chandler runs with the prospects of Utah, so expect him to participate in several high-level games this summer, perform anywhere close to his 22ppg production and expect him to pick up some of additional power 5 offers.
KJ Miller KJ Miller 6'3" | CG Layton | 2024 State UT 6’3 CG Layton|Salt Lake Rebels 2024 (#6PHU 2024) – Got a good look at Miller last week out in Florida. He’s listed as a combo guard, but to me, he’s simply a guy with a strap. Miller showed off his shooting ability both at Layton and for SLR last week. If he continues to show it during the spring and summer, expect his stock to rise.
Amir Roberson 6’0 PG Real Salt Lake 2024 (#22PHU 2024) – Roberson plays for the uber talented RSL squad, and while he was only a role player, you can see the talent. Roberson can play both backcourt spots and he uses his speed and creative ability to make plays for both teammates and himself.
Max Toombs Max Toombs 6'3" | CG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT 6’3 SG Corner Canyon|Jimmer Elite 2023 (#11PHU 2023) – Toombs turned in a terrific season for CC. The young guy in a group of senior studs, the SG still managed to put up nearly 10 per game for a winning squad. Toombs is a guy that likes to get to the rim to score the ball, If he increases his overall shooting ability this spring then expect him to make a significant impression on several scouts’ radar.
Moroni Seeley-Roberts Moroni Seeley-Roberts 6'6" | CG Grand County | 2023 WA 6’6 CG Grand County 2023 (#22PHU 2023) – Perhaps one of the most intriguing prospects in the state. MSR is coming off a season that saw him average over 25ppg. The Combo does it all and has the size and skill to pass a lot of eye tests. Roberts put up double-digit points in every game he stepped on the floor last year, and he added over 10 boards per game to boot. If he shows the same level of consistency this Spring and Summer, he’ll be impossible to ignore.
