Jaden Monday Jaden Monday 6'0" | PG Van Horn | 2021 State MO (Van Horn): The 2021 Washburn recruit erupted for a game-high 41 points in the Falcons’ thrilling 91-83 victory over Mexico in the Class 5 state quarterfinals. What was most impressive about his performance was that 35 of those points came after halftime. He showed why he is one of the state’s most difficult players to guard with his speed and quickness to blow by defenders of his ability to pull up from long distance to hit the 3-pointer. He was on fire last night as he rallied Van Horn to send them to their first Final Four appearance since 1983.
Keshon Gilbert Keshon Gilbert 6'3" | PG Vashon | 2021 State #202 Nation MO (Vashon): The 6’4″ UNLV recruit did-it-all last night as he had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the Wolverines’ 72-52 victory over New Madrid Central in the Class 2 state quarterfinals. He is a pass-first point guard with a tremendous basketball IQ who knows how to serve others, but he can get buckets on the attack and hit the deep ball. His four-point play at the end of the first half was the money shot of the game. UNLV is getting a good one.
Connor Arment Connor Arment 5'10" | PG Barstow | 2021 State MO (Barstow): The 5’11″ 2021 point guard had 29 points, five rebounds and five assists in Barstow’s 70-67 victory over Richmond in the Class 4 state quarterfinals. He also caught fire from 3-point range as he rallied his team back from a 10-point second half deficit. He can score off the dribble, he can get in the lane and he can create for his teammates. He also sealed the game with four free throws in the closing seconds.
KJ Lee KJ Lee 6'6" | SG Fort Zumwalt North | 2021 State MO and Connor Turnbull Connor Turnbull 6'9" | PF Ft. Zumwalt North | 2022 State MO (Fort Zumwalt North): This dynamic duo was on point last night in the Panthers’ 71-48 victory over Troy in the Class 6 quarterfinals to send the Panthers to their first ever Final Four. Lee, a 6’7″ 2021 guard, scored 21 points as he scored on a vareity of drives, short jumpers and 3-pointers. Turnbull, a 6’10″ 2022 scored a game-high 22 points and continued his all-out assault on the rims with five slam dunks. He’s from the Tyler Hansbrough school of dunk everything you possibly can around the rim.
Jack Lawson Jack Lawson 6'7" | SF Lutheran South | 2021 State MO (Lutheran South): The 6’7″ 2021 continued his tremendous postseason run with 17 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in the Lancers’ 61-57 victory at North County in the Class 5 quarterfinals, thus sending South to its first Final Four since 1973. He has enjoyed a very productive regular season and he has continued to raise the level of play with each postseason game with his combination of size and versatility.
Jadis Jones: The 6’5″ 2024 forward showed why he is the best player in the freshman class last night with a 21-point, 11-rebound performance in the Eagles’ loss to Vashon in the Class 4 state quarterfinals. He was a force in the second half as he scored 18 of his 21 points. He does a nice job in the high post and around the basket on a regular basis, but in this wide-open, up and down game, he was able to showcase his ball handling skills and ability to score off the dribble. His future is neon bright.
