Players had the opportunity to compete in front of 20 college coaches as well as play for a chance to win the Camp Championship. Let’s get things started by taking a look at some of the Award winners and top performers from throughout the day.
Westover HS Junior Wing Mikey Campbell Mikey Campbell 6'5" | SF Westover | 2022 State NC took home the Camp MVP Award, averaging 15 Points & 6 Rebounds throughout the playoffs, leading his team to a 3rd place finish. He caught fire early on and kept it rolling throughout the day, scoring from multiple levels, using his athleticism to make plays above the rim on both ends.
Pinecrest HS Unsigned Senior Shooting Guard Ian Blue was the best shooter of the day, taking home the three point contest championship. Blue is a three point specialist, especially from the corner, he doesn’t need a ton of time to get his shot off and has very good shooting form. Low D2s, High D3’s, NAIA and JC programs should all take a close at what he can potentially bring to the table.
Southview HS Junior Wing Jarod Brown Jarod Brown 6'4" | SF South View | 2022 State NC won the Defensive Player Of the day award, blocking shots at a high level and rebounding at a nice rate. He plays with one of the highest motors that you will see from a youngster, doesn’t take plays off and can score the ball at a decent rate.
Moravian Prep Wing Colin Radcliffe Colin Radcliffe 6'6" | SF Living Water Christian | 2020 State NC was solid throughout the day, he plays well through contact, scores it at a nice level and can shoot the deep ball with efficiency. Schools at the D2 & D3 levels has shown interest as he seems to fit the mold of what many are looking for in a wing at the next level.
Northside-Jax Guard Ronnie Thompson Jr was one of the best Guards in the entire camp, showcasing his speed and ability to break down defenders .He can score the ball well but also has nice court vision/passing ability that he uses to get teammates involved and sets them up for easy buckets.
