Logan Satlow – Andover High/Middlesex Magic – 6’8” – PF/SF – 2022
Satlow is a physical force inside who has an array of post moves making him a challenge to defend in the interior. He wants to bang inside, battle for rebounds and is the perfect example of a quintessential big with the way he works around the basket. What impressed me about Satlow during his session with Above The Rim Training was how he did everything full speed. Satlow was going 100% and wanted to focus on improving parts of his game to take him to the next level. With a heavy focus on his outside game and vertical, Satlow has the potential to be a dominant force this spring as those parts of his game continue to develop. Already a potent spot-up shooter from three, Satlow developing his shooting off the dribble will make him a nightmare to guard because he has all of the other offensive tools in his arsenal.Â

Benny Nguyen – Rockland High/Middlesex Magic – 6’2” – SF/SG – 2022
Nguyen is one of the most versatile defenders you will see. At 6’2” and built like an ox, Nguyen can guard positions 1-3 easily, and if he gets switched on to a 4, Nguyen’s aggressiveness and defensive IQ allow him to make it difficult for bigger forwards to be effective. He is a maximum effort wing who will pick up any player the court’s length and make them work. Also, Nguyen is an alert help-side defender who will come over from the weak side and take charges. Along with stellar defense, the 6’2” wing is a lethal sharpshooter. Wherever Nguyen catches the ball, he can let it fly, put the ball on the deck and create for himself off the dribble. During his shooting session with his brother Kenny Nguyen, I noticed excellent footwork and technique when going through various shooting drills that varied from close to long-range jump shots. The junior did numerous ball-handling drills, which for Nguyen, I think is critical. Defenses are going to be in his air space to force Nguyen to beat them from inside the three-point line. Therefore, with him continuing to develop his handle and be innovative off the dribble, it will make Nguyen even more deadly scoring the basketball from the wing position. Â
