Greenfield School Forward Hampton Evans Hampton Evans 6'5" | PF Farmville Central | 2024 State NC saw some time on the varsity level as an 8th grader but this season was his first season as a high schooler and he looked comfortable from day one. The 6’5 Forward showcased his shooting and rebounding ability as well as his overall potential.
Cape Fear Christian Guard Zeke Brock was one of the better shooters in the area this season and the scary part is he has three more years to continue to develop. He gets good arch on his shot and seems to be confident with his ability at such a young age.
Jacksonville HS Guard Derrick Benbow Jr Derrick Benbow Jr 6'3" | CG White Oak | 2024 State NC was a late addition to JHS but he stepped right in and contributed nicely. He understands how to get in the paint and score at a nice rate but also has a solid midrange game.
East Carteret has been known for their Guard play over the last few years and Freshman Guard Shamel Baker Shamel Baker 6'0" | PG East Carteret | 2024 State NC is next in line. Baker averaged 16 Points, 4 Assist and 4 Rebounds per game with one of his best showings coming in the Regional Semis with 28 Points and 7 Steals in a loss to Riverside.
Laney HS Guard Josh Helms Josh Helms 6'0" | CG Laney | 2024 State NC started the season coming off the bench but would work his way into the staring lineup and being a nice role player for Laney. His shooting ability is what catches your attention early on but his IQ and potential is just as impressive.
Coming to a team and running the show as a freshman PG is a tall task but that’s exactly what Jacksonville HS Guard Amaree Barber Amaree Barber 6'0" | CG Jacksonville | 2024 State NC accomplished this season. He balanced his scoring and facilitating well, got better each game and didn’t back down from any challenge he faced.
