No. 22 Jeremy Lorenz Jeremy Lorenz 6'8" | PF Brillion | 2023 State WI (Brillion)
Was big on Lorenz after last summer and still believe this kid has real potential. Lorenz kept moving up and up my list as the season wore on. After leading Brillion to a 16-9 record and a sectional final appearance as a sophomore, Lorenz is worthy of a top 25 spot and may not be done there. A big matchup problem at 6-foot-7, Lorenz averaged 19.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season. Able to handle and shoot the ball from the perimeter, Lorenz is still just scratching the surface.
No. 24 Jamariea Dalton Jamariea Dalton 6'3" | SG Fond Du Lac | 2023 State WI (Fond Du Lac)
Think Dalton is arriving quicker than expected. The sophomore guard put up 16.5 points and 3.0 assists per game in a very tough Fox Valley Association. Dalton had big games against the likes of Brookfield East, Neenah, Kimberly, and Kaukauna this season. A big time athlete with length, Dalton’s skills on the balls have progressed quickly and he looked really good as an isolation scorer.
No. 28 Alex Sherwood Alex Sherwood 6'4" | SF Xavier | 2023 State WI (Xavier)
Sherwood started to emerge early in the fall and has just continued to build on that momentum. Leading Xavier to a 23-4 record and a state tournament berth, Sherwood is averaging 17.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore. At 6-foot-6, Sherwood has really terrific positional size as a small forward. He’s a knockdown perimeter shooter who can handle the ball and create some matchup problems as well.
No. 40 Jalen Haynes Jalen Haynes 6'3" | SG Martin Luther | 2023 State WI (Martin Luther)
Haynes came on late in the year for Martin Luther and was a big reason for their surge during the second half of the season. He averaged 8.4 points per game and led the team with 38 3-pointers. Haynes scored in double figures in eight of Martin Luther’s final 11 games. A strong 3-pointer shooter, Haynes is very dangerous when given space or when defenders fail to close with a hand up.
No. 56 Matthew Schmainda Matthew Schmainda 6'2" | CG Brookfield East | 2023 State WI (Brookfield East)
Schmainda was solid all season long for a very talented Brookfield East squad. A terrific 3-point shooter with a quick stroke, Schaminda averaged around 10 points per game. The sophomore guard was extremely reliable all season. A strong, stocky guard, Schmainda brings energy and heart on defense. He’s a tough-minded prospect who’s willing to stick his face into the fan, come up with loose balls, battle for rebounds, and generate hustle plays.
