Braden Branstetter Braden Branstetter 6'3" | SG Hartville | 2021 State MO (Hartville): The 6’3″ 2021 guard averaged 17 points and enjoyed his second consecutive big Final Four weekend as the Eagles repeated as state champions. He was on fire in the semifinals against Lift for Life as he scored 25 points and knocked down five of his seven attempts from 3-point range. He scored 15 points in the second quarter as the Eagles broke the game open. In the championship game, he fought off early foul trouble to score nine points in the Eagles’ 42-35 victory over Monroe City.
All-Tournament Team
Ryce Piper Ryce Piper 6'2" | PG Hartville | 2021 State MO (Hartville): The smooth 6’4″ 2021 guard had an excellent all-around weekend as he averaged 8.5 points, five rebounds and four assists as the Eagles repeated as state champions. He had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists in the Eagles victory over Monroe City in the championship game. He’s the one who usually stirs the mix for the Eagles with his all-around skill set, which includes scoring, passing, rebounding and even some shot blocking.
Kyle Hays (Monroe City): The 5’10″ 2022 guard had a very solid weekend as he helped lead the Panthers to a state runner-up finish. He averaged nearly 10 points a game during the weekend while providing steady ball handling. He had a knack for knocking down some big 3-pointers at key times when his team really needed them during the weekend.
Griffin Kliewer (Summit Christian): The 6’3″ 2021 Indiana Wesleyan recruit averaged 15.5 points in the Final Four as he led SCA to a third-place finish. He had 16 points and six rebounds in the third-place game victory against Lift for Life. Not only is he the team’s primary scorer on the perimeter, he is the chief ball handler and playmaker as well. He finishes his stellar career as the leading scorer in Summit Christian’s history.
Cody Mahan (Hartville): The 2021 guard came up with some big plays in championship game against Monroe City as he scored 12 points and knocked down a couple of key 3-pointers in the Eagles’ victory. He made two of his four attempts from 3-point range.
Jared Gerdes Jared Gerdes 6'3" | SG Summit Christian | 2021 State MO (Summit Christian): The 6’8″ 2021 forward averaged 15 points in leading SCA to a third-place finish over the weekend. After being surrounding by Monroe City defenders throughout the semifinal game, he broke loose to have 24 points and 14 rebounds in a victory over Lift for Life in the third-place game, thus putting the finishing touches on a tremendous senior season.
