Continue ReadingThe bridge between the high school and circuit season is an exciting time for prospects. Events will becoming at full force over the coming weeks and months. In reality, many showcases have already took place to give unsigned prospects added exposure. Organizers due a great job of putting events together during this difficult time.
That is why players should take advantage of every event and every resource they can. It only takes one program or scout to like you and give you an offer. Furthermore, the talent level that resides in South Florida is very deep. Programs at all levels put extra emphasis on finding the next student-athlete to represent them in this region. No offense to other states, but this is a mecca for a variety of sports.

Part two will be an additional list of prospects I believe will be stars out on the wire…
Gavin Aydelotte Gavin Aydelotte 6'11" | C Benjamin | 2023 State FL – Benjamin
2023 Gavin Aydelotte Gavin Aydelotte 6'11" | C Benjamin | 2023 State FL is a frontcourt nightmare up in Palm Beach Gardens. The 6-foot-10 power forward/center averaged 12.9 points and 6.7 rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the field this season. At 210 pounds, Aydelotte has plenty of time to fill out his frame and become a greater mismatch in the post. In addition, a nice caveat to his game is his free-throw shooting. Aydelotte knocked down 76 percent (44-of-58) from the charity stripe. Connecting on the freebies is not always easy for a big man. Against 3A semifinalist Miami Country Day, he scored a season-high 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Furthermore, Aydelotte flashed a bit of an outside game against the Spartans with a pair of 3-pointers. Moreover, he went 11-of-34 (32 percent) from deep on the season. Any additional production from outside could round out his game. Check out his highlights by clicking here.
Zayin Humber – Wellington
Humber might have something as a senior for the Wolverines. The 6-foot-4 power forward averaged a modest 4.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a junior. However, Humber showed up in a big away against regional power Forest Hill. In that matchup, he scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. In another showdown against Dwyer, Humber grabbed ten rebounds. At the very least, he has shown up against two very good teams. Can he play like that on a consistent basis? Might be a sleeper over this summer and into the fall.
Carter Kuzmin – Trinity Christian Academy
The Warriors had a veteran group led by Tristan Gee Tristan Gee 6'5" | SF Lake Worth Trinity Christian | 2021 State FL and Jovonte Allen Jovonte Allen 6'4" | CG Lake Worth Trinity Christian | 2021 State FL . The pair combined to average 42 points and grab over 15 rebounds per game. A younger prospect to watch on the team could be Carter Kuzmin. The 6-foot-2 eight grader saw a good amount of minutes across 14 games. Moreover, he averaged 3.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Those might not be numbers that stand out, but you have to like his height at his age. Kuzmin was also playing forward, so he likely was matching up against more developed frontcourt players. Four seniors are set to graduate for the Warriors, so an opportunity for more playing time could be imminent.
Cam Codio – Past : American Heritage (Delray) to Montverde Academy
2024 Cam Codio had a nice freshman season for the Stallions. The 5-foot-6 point guard averaged 9.4 points and two rebounds per game. Moreover, Codio shot 43 percent (20-of-46) from deep this season. Against St. John Paul II Academy, he scored 19 points and went 5-of-8 from 3-point range. You have to like that confidence out of a youngster. There clearly is a level of shooting ability in his game, which included five double-figure outputs. Codio appears to be heading to Montverde Academy; a move that includes his sister on the girl’s side. 2022 Jordana Codio is 6-foot-1 and recently decommited from Wisconsin. You have to like his chances to grow into a big guard based on his family tree.
Javier Surze – Keys Gate
2024 Javier Surze played well for the Knights. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 7.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game on 55 percent shooting from the field this season. Moreover, he recorded 33 blocks across twelve contests. Against Palmetto, Surze scored 13 points and grabbed ten rebounds on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. He played just under 20 minutes for a Knights squad that finished 12-8 overall. I really like his patience on the defensive end of the floor. Surze uses his length well and doesn’t draw unnecessary contact. He should continue to improve with more work this summer.
