The event featured 30 kids from across the state of Virginia, and had numerous standouts throughout the day. Here’s a look at part two of the many big time players on the day.
Noah Richardson-Keys | 6’3” WF | Manchester
Richardson-Keys was one of the biggest reasons Manchester was so good this season, and he showed why as the strong and athletic forward was productive on both ends throughout the day. At 6’3”, Richardson-Keys has good size and can guard multiple positions, he plays with a great motor and has a budding skill set offensively that should continue to get better with time. He was extremely efficient averaging 13 points on 11-for-13 shooting from the field in the two games.
Eric Gordon | 5’11” PG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Gordon has been impressive in a number of CBG events with the 703 Rockets this year, and the St. Stephen’s St. Agnes point guard is exactly what you’d expect from that school as he’s the consummate floor general and consistently runs the team and makes the right play. He’s always under control and uses his size to create contact and space well, he plays with good pace and handles pressure and always knows where everyone on his team is. He finished the event averaging 9 points and 6 assists.
Sihle Mithethwa Sihle Mithethwa 6'1" | PG Orange Cou | 2021 State VA | 6’0” PG | Orange County
Mitethwa was one of the top scorers in the Charlottesville area this year, and while he was on a team with a number of other scorers he still showed flashes that allowed him to score 50 points in a game this year. He’s a strong and steady guard that can get to where he wants to off the bounce, he can make contested shots at the rim using his size and he can stroke it from deep when he’s left open. He was steady and efficient throughout the day, averaging 10.5 points and shooting over 50% from the field and from deep.
Zakari McQueen Zakari McQueen 6'1" | PG James River | 2021 State VA | 6’1” PG | James River
McQueen is a late bloomer out of Richmond that had a very good year for a very good James River team, and he showed his ability to score it in bunches at the camp. The 6’1” guard is quick off the bounce and able to get in the lane at will, he shoots the pull-up well and has a good middle game and once he gets it going he can fill it up with the best of them. He finished the day averaging 10 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Jacobi Lambert Jacobi Lambert 6'1" | SG Heritage (Liberty) | 2021 State VA | 6’2” WG | Heritage (Lynchburg)
Lambert has been one of the top scorers in the Lynchburg area the past few years, and he showed flashes of that brilliance when he got things going. The 6’2” scoring guard is strong and powerful in the paint, he’s a smooth lefty that can shoot it from deep off the catch and off the bounce and he can rebound and defend multiple positions as well. He’s a guy who can score it in a number of ways and can get hot quickly and take games over.
Dylan Simpkins | 6’2” WG | Roanoke Catholic
Simpkins was one of a number of impressive guys from the Roanoke area and he showed he’d be a great collegiate three and d guy moving forward. The 6’2” guard was not only a consistent shooter from deep, but he showed the ability to attack closeouts and get in the midrange where he shot it well, and he showed that he just has a knack for being around the ball and making plays.
Tyler Martin Tyler Martin 6'3" | SF William Byrd | 2021 State VA | 6’3” WF | William Byrd
Martin is another available guy out of Roanoke that colleges should consider as he’s a versatile forward that makes winning plays on both ends of the floor. He can play multiple positions on the floor, he plays hard on both ends of the floor and he does all sorts of things that help his team win that both show up in the stat sheet and don’t as well. He was efficient and competed well on both ends, and he would bring a great culture and work ethic to any team that he ended up on.
