Here are the players listed in no particular order.
Julius Clark Julius Clark 6'5" | PF Mountain Brook | 2023 State AL , 6’5 Forward, Mountain Brook C/O 2023: Coming off of a state Championship win, I’m sure Julius is on a high right now, but now it’s time to look forward to his junior year. This kid Has excellent footwork in the paint, Has a soft touch attacking the basket. He constantly crashes the basket fighting for boards; He Knows the fundamentals of boxing out which is a plus. He Runs the floor; he will knock down the three if given the opportunity. He plays intense defense, as he should, being part of that high-energy Spartan defense. Going into his junior, I would expect great things from Julius.
Brady Donlon Brady Donlon 6'8" | C Asheville HS | 2023 State AL , 6’7 F/C, Mountain Brook C/O 2023: My first impression of Brady was the size he had only as a sophomore. He’s taking his size over to the defending champs Mountain Brook. Just from this season, I have noticed the high energy that he plays with. He can run the floor and stay active even when fatigued. He understands that his length is beneficial on the defensive end and is very quick to box out and go for the rebound. He is unstoppable with his scoring in the paint; he thrives off fighting for the offensive rebound. He has incredible footwork and a nice post-game. With Mountain Brook adding this kid to the roster, I see another championship in their reach.
Madrecus Moreland, jr., 6’0 Guard, Shades Valley C/O 2023: As a sophomore, Moreland is already running Shades Valley’s offense. He’s a coachable athlete and looks to perfect his game each moment on the floor. He plays with control and has a quick first step out of the triple threat. He can draw the foul with ease with numerous trips to the free-throw line. He plays well in your nose defense but struggles with reach, not anything he can’t perfect. Each time he comes to the bench, he talks with his coach looking to get better each time he steps on the floor; Moreland is definitely a player you want running your offense.
Jalen Jones Jalen Jones 6'2" | CG Ramsay | 2023 State AL , 5’10 PG, Ramsay C/O 2023: Jalen attacks the lane with such velocity that a defender can’t cut him off. Jones is all about speed; he’s very explosive attacking the rim. With his quick handles, he can break his defender down and draw a foul with ease. Despite his Size, Jones is all about crashing the boards with the big dogs. He brings that high energy off the bench, but I expect he will play a more prominent role in the offense next season.
Kerrington Kiel Kerrington Kiel 6'6" | SG Ramsay | 2023 State AL , 6’5 SF, Ramsay C/O 2023: Kiel allows the game to come to him, does not force any shot. He is very aggressive with grabbing rebounds. He can handle his self defensively in the paint with bigger players. Kiel is continuously looking for the quick pickpocket giving his team another opportunity to score. He has one of the smoothest jump shops in his class; he should not be taken lightly from the three. Keep an eye on this kid!
