The fourth game of the series was the best one of the series. Stepinac prevailed to win the Brother Stoldt series 4-0. Much credit to both coaches, players, Athletic Directors, and principals for putting this entertaining series together.

MVP: Isiah Alexander 6”7. 2022. Stepinac

The transfer from Pennsylvania displayed his whole skill set. Scoring around the rim. Able to rebound in traffic. Defended the perimeter and post. Used his athleticism and length to gets his hands in the passing lanes for steals. Also showed some range. Was not the preseason favorite to win this award but showed up big time.

All Series Team:

[player_tooltip player_id="945516" first="Malcolm" last="Chimezie"]. 6”8. 2021 Stepinac.

Plagued by foul trouble in game 1 plus double and triple teams every time he touched the ball. Malcolm was still able to put up good numbers. The Boston University staff had to love how he fought through all this. In game two he came out in the second half and scored 7 straight points. He scored around the rim with excellent footwork and scored the decisive basket on a monstrous dunk in game 4. The big man is an excellent passer out of the post. Many times he saw the double and kicked it out for an open three. Malcolm was named MVP of the series at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045930" first="RJ" last="Greene"] 6”5. 2021. Iona Prep

Could not and would not be denied at the rim. Did everything in his power to help his team win. He scored at all three levels. An explosive strong first step got into the lane and dared defenders to stop him. Can handle the ball and is ferocious at scoring above the rim. Excellent mid-range game. Has expanded his range he is a player who is ready for a high major D1 role. Breaking News: Hofstra and Robert Morris have just offered!

Johnuel Fland 6”2. 2024. Stepinac

Received his latest offer from Maryland. Hoop guys were anxious to see him start his high school career. It didn’t happen the regular way because of the delay, but after his first 4 games, it is safe to say he is the real deal. Terrific with the three-ball. Explosive to the rim. Extremely confident and cool player. Went to the line in crunch time sank free throws with ease.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125584" first="Samuel" last="Gibbs"]. 6”2. 2022. Stepinac

The Ivy and Patriot leagues have checked in on Samuel. More offers should be be coming. A playmaker. He does everything well. Makes the right plays. Can shoot it from three. Has the handle to get to the basket. Sets up his teammates with crisp passes. Excellent rebounding guard. Gets his hands in on deflections. He is a real steady player 12 points 5 rebounds 5 assists 3 steals is his normal night.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045689" first="Blaise" last="New"]. 5”9. 2023. Iona Prep

An unflappable point guard who can score the ball. Crafty to the basket. Can score with either hand. Excellent in transition. A floor general puts guys in their spots and runs the offense. Good on the ball defender. Very creative.

Under The Radar Team: These are the players who weren’t the big names going in but played great to introduce their names to college programs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1141982" first="Bengaly" last="Berete"] 6”4. 2022. Iona Prep

Put his name on your recruiting board. An explosive quick player to the rim. Very deceptive going to the basket. Quick jumper. Athletic player. An excellent rebounder and defender throughout the series.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046820" first="Joel" last="Baez"]. 6”4. 2022. Stepinac

Coaches know Joel but he is a player who would have taken off this season if we were playing. Defended well. Has a good handle able to get to the rim. Played a big part in getting Stepinac off to a 2-0 series lead. Was steady throughout .

Jaylen Pray 6”5. 2024. Iona Prep

The freshman showed he belongs early. Defended the post, scores around the rim. Finishes on the break. This young player is still growing. Grandfather is 7”1. Rebounds in traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id="1047085" first="Francisco" last="Mattei"]. 5”11. 2021. Stepinac

Can shoot the three. Handles the ball well. Good court vision and awareness. Gets the ball to the right player at the right time. Consumate steady guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046846" first="Justin" last="Allen"]. 6”3. 2024. Iona Prep.

Another young player for Iona Prep showed he is ready for the tough Chsaa. Coach says he needs to gain confidence, well these four games should give him that. He did good things every time he was on the court, excellent passer. Can get inside on the drive and also possesses a nice mid-range game.
