Here are some standouts from the night:
Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 5'11" | PG Hiram | 2024 State GA , PG, North Paulding
Smallest man on the floor but plays with a heart the size of Texas, composed with the ball and has plenty of quickness to not allow defenses to muscle him, is frankly among the best pure shooters I’ve seen so far in my travels, has range out 3 or 4 steps past the arc and makes them with consistency, will drive it by you if you’re sleepy, will play up with the 2023s regularly, and it’ll be fascinating to see how the skillset translates when he faces larger teams and more doubles.
Aiden McDonald, SG, Sprayberry
Also not the biggest guy out there but has a stout frame packed with plenty of natural athletic ability, saw some variety time this year at SHS, likes to find his way along the arc and has a really pretty, free-flowing stroke, certainly speedy and physical enough to knife into traffic and can handle the ball as a 1 when needed, really like what I saw and could see why he snuck in varsity time as a frosh.
Wesley Harrison Wesley Harrison 6'6" | PF River Ridge | 2024 State GA , PF, River Ridge (pictured above)
The growing program at River Ridge has kids littered all over this roster and also playing AAU ball all over town, Harrison has good size at around 6-4 and is a rare player today who likes it and looks quite comfortable on the low block, good feet allow him to catch and move well against closing defenses, nice timing on D as a shot-blocker, has some rang out to 15 feet and that will be a focus for him to improve upon this summer.
Matthew Gordon, SF, River Ridge
Looking like the prototypical 3-man in today’s game with good size 6-3 or so and a quick and fluid stroke from downtown, has good sense on the court and understands the game and where to be, plays sound defense and with that size and good lateral movement can cover 3 spots, did show a nice dribble-drive facet as well which should loosen up defenses.
Tre Winters, SF, 2025 (Adairsville MS)
Will be playing up exclusively with this group and showed more than enough court savvy and smooth skill to do it, good size at around 6-3 with some vertical allows him to “out-athleticize” other players, he’s a polished finisher already at a young age who glides to the rim, looking forward to seeing more of the perimeter game as he catches and face against older and equally athletic opponents.
OTHERS TO WATCH: Ben Karanja (North Paulding), Colin Giles (River Ridge), Jack Strickland (Etowah), Caleb Christian (Cherokee), Caleb Keith (Pickens County), Rylan Stallard (River Ridge), Bret Senay (River Ridge, not present), Donovan McDaniel (Sonaraville, not present)
