AAU Preview: ND Attack 17U

The high school season is over in North Dakota. Everyone is gearing up for the AAU season. Look for the green and blue when you are in a gym because ND Attack will have a talented squad. Coming soon to a gym near you…. Roster Britton Cranston Britton Cranston 5'8" | SG Dickinson | 2022 State ND (2022) |5-9 G| Dickinson – A skilled point guard who can navigate traffic, score, and make others better. Britton has a good-looking stroke from outside. He can lock-up on the defense and be a pest on the ball. Taven Coon (2022) |5-11| Glendive (MT) – He can flat-out shoot the rock. Taven is a pure shooter with excellent form. He moves well without the ball and spots up for open shots. He will benefit from the penetration and kick from his teammates. Logan Topp Logan Topp 6'0" | SG Griggs/Midkota | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-0 G| Griggs/Midkota – A quick and athletic 2-guard. Logan is a diligent hard worker. He is very good at getting to the rim. Topp has a nice pull-up jump-shot. Look for him to be a volume scorer. Adam Bitz Adam Bitz 5'11" | SG Valley City | 2022 ND (2022) |5-11 G| Valley City – He is an aggressive slasher who can get into the lane and make things happen. Adam is a quality shooter from beyond the arc as well as in the mid-range. Look for his game to blossom this summer as a result of him playing with highly talented players. Jaxen Johnson Jaxen Johnson 6'5" | PF North Border | 2022 ND (2022) |6-5 F| North Border – A flexible post player that is long and athletic. He is a solid defender and aggressive rebounder. He can initiate the break on his own. Jaxen can also step out hit drill the 3-point shot. Kyler Moore Kyler Moore 6'1" | SG North Border | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-1 G| North Border – Kyler is a hard-working defender that can matchup on the perimeter and can hold his own inside with forwards. For his size, he is an excellent rebounder. Kyler is a nice shooter outside and an efficient slasher. Leighton Strommen Leighton Strommen 6'3" | SG Northern Cass | 2022 ND (2022) |6-3 G| Northern Cass – He is a big guard. Leighton is a quality finisher around the basket that can use both hands. He is tough to guard when he is attacking the basket. Strommen is a great free-throw shooter. Cade Stein Cade Stein 6'1" | SG Dakota Prarie | 2022 ND (2022) |6-1 G| Dakota Prairie – He should be a big-time scorer for Attack this spring/summer. He has the skill and ability to be a go-to player. He is athletic and will be a tough guard for opposing teams. Tevin Dietz Tevin Dietz 6'1" | SG Beach | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-1 G| Beach – He is a strong and physical player. Tevin gets his scoring from slashing to the basket. He is at his best when the tempo is being pushed. I can see him being a D-stopper on that side of the ball. Mason Wick Mason Wick 6'3" | SF Hazen | 2022 ND (2022) |6-4 G| Hazen – A sniper from 3-point land who can really fill it up. Mason has the ability to cash in from a long range. His length allows him to shoot over smaller guards. Wick should be the best catch-and-shoot 3-pointer maker for Attack. Look for him to keep growing over the summer. Team Notes from Coach Cranston: “The ND Attack 17U team will be put together with many solid guards and hardworking kids. We will bring an up-tempo style and will focus on spreading the floor. We will shoot a lot of threes and look to press or half-court trap much of the game.
