Here are 10 freshmen that have been impressive this season and most importantly they have loads of potential. Keep an eye on these players. If they work hard and have a productive spring/summer they could break into the top 10 in our next rankings.

He is a sparkplug on the court. For a young guard, he is a good rebounder because of his hustle and instincts. Carson is a crafty finisher around the basket.

He can finish with a soft floater. His 3-point shooting has improved as the year has gone on. Tyson shoots it soft, and he has an easy release.

13. Carter Vrchota Carter Vrchota 6'0" | SG Central Cass | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-0 G| Central Cass – “Fearless” is the best way to describe this young shooter. Carter will get off the bench cold and he almost always seems to make the first shot he takes. I love the confidence he plays and shoots with. He has solid handles, and he is a creative finisher.

14. Jake Shobe Jake Shobe 6'0" | SG Dickinson Trinity | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-0 G| Dickinson Trinity – He is not afraid to shoot the ball when the game is on the line. Jake shoots left-handed and he has a smooth-looking shot. Jake plays like a mature guard with refined skills.

17. Luke Martinson Luke Martinson 6'5" | PF Sargent County | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-4 F| Sargent County – He is very physical for a freshmen post player. He is not afraid to mix it up with bigger older players. Luke has solid shooting from and the base to be a real shooting threat. I liked his post moves with his back to the basket. He will be a force in Region-1 for the next three years.
