Here are the new names from the Austin-Metroplex that were added to the 2022 Texas Rankings:
Jivenson Sylvestre Jivenson Sylvestre 6'4" | SG Northeast Early College | 2022 State TX | SG | Northeast Early College
- Sylvestre supports a strong frame for the guard position and loves to attack the basket where he has good explosiveness and vertical leaping ability. Is patient with the ball in his hands, picks his spots, and can be a threat as a scorer from three-point range. Sylvestre plays physical on defense and has the ability on any given night to take over a game with his offense. Earned First Team All-District 17-5A.
Chris Loofe Chris Loofe 6'10" | C Leander | 2022 State TX | C | Leander
- A 6’9″ center with long arms and impressive shot-blocking ability, Loofe did a fantastic job protecting the rim this past season for Leander posting several games of 6 or more blocked shots. Loofe is a plus rebounder, runs the court well, and can handle the ball naturally. Is a high-potential prospect who is still scratching the surface of his offensive skill set. Earned Second Team All-District 25-5A.
Traeshaun Leak Traeshaun Leak 6'0" | CG Leander Glenn | 2022 State TX | SG | Leander Glenn
- Leak was a key player in Glenn’s deep run in the state playoffs this past season and provided a consistent scoring option from the wing, while also being a hard-nosed defender. Leak showed good athleticism and hustle on the court and gives it his all while being a physical shutdown defender who can guard several positions. On offense, Leak did most of his damage knocking down shots from the wings and did a good job of drawing fouls and nailing his free-throw attempts. Earned UIL 5A-Region 4 All-Region Team, First Team All-District 25-5A.
Jack Francis Jack Francis 6'2" | SG Austin Anderson | 2022 State TX | SG | Anderson
- Francis is a smart and savvy shooting guard who is consistently making the right plays. Standing at 6’2″, Francis has a good frame that can add strength, and he showed that he can get to the basket with ease or hit shots from deep range. Plays with good pace on the court, and seems to always be around the ball. Is a good rebounder who is willing to get physical in the paint, and plays with a good IQ on defense. Earned First Team All-District 17-5A.
Major New Major New 6'10" | C Lockhart | 2022 State TX | C | Lockhart
- An active post player with light feet and a soft touch around the basket, New came on strong last season as the sixth man for a Lockhart squad who made the playoffs. New consistently flirted with double-double territory thanks to his rebounding and quick put-back shots. Is a very good offensive rebounder who provides the team with plenty of second-chance opportunities, and is still on a good developmental path in his offensive game. Earned Second Team All-District 17-5A.
