Amondo Miller Amondo Miller 6'6" | CG Valor Christian | 2021 State CO – Valor Christian
Miller was one of the most dangerous players in the state this year with his perfect blend of size, athleticism, and talent. At 6’5 and with the ability to put the ball on the floor as a downhill runner, it wasn’t easy to slow him down. Although his Eagles team lost in the first round, he picked up right where he left off in the regular season by attacking. Miller got inside and wreaked havoc. He also opened up the floor by knocking down two 3-pointers in the playoff game against Doherty as he finished with 18 points on the night. Miller has great court awareness, finds holes in the defense, and is aggressive on the boards, and once he gets the rebound, he starts the break, which kickstarted the Valor offense. He is one of the top remaining unsigned seniors available, and if you take a look at that playoff game, it is easy to see why he stands out.
Kendale Johnson Kendale Johnson 6'5" | SF George Washington | 2021 State CO – George Washington
Johnson came into high school as one of the most entertaining young players in the state. He had a bumpy ride but finally found a rhythm where he looks like his usual self. There were moments of the old Kendale where he dominated opposing teams like his run in the playoffs. In the playoffs alone, Kendale averaged 11.2 points and 7.0 rebounds a game, and that was while going 18-21 from the charity stripe, including 15 straight to close out the playoffs. He was starting to attack instead of just settling for jumpers, using his body and size to get inside and made it difficult for opposing teams to just sit in zones the entire time.
Ty Robinson Ty Robinson 6'5" | SF Eaglecrest | 2021 State CO – Eaglecrest
Robinson has been a fixture in the high school scene for the last four years as a player who has stayed in the Top-10 throughout his career. When you think about the perfect blend of size and athleticism with the ability to space the floor with his outside shot, Robinson is a one of a kind of player. Robinson is also a Division I athlete that makes the switch over from football to basketball and is always ready to lead the way and did just that in an awkward season where Eaglecrest had to go through hoops and loops to get in a zone, but when they did, it was business as usual for the uber-athletic standout senior. Robinson had his usual season where he was one of the top standouts in the conference and had his team ready to compete on a nightly basis and, in the playoffs, showed his high upside. The 6’5 senior had vintage Ty Robinson Ty Robinson 6'5" | SF Eaglecrest | 2021 State CO games in the playoffs as he scored with ease and picked up double figures in all three games of the playoffs, and that was including a 27-point, seven-rebound explosion in a win over Mountain Vista. The Raptors came up short, but what a run for an outstanding player.
Braden Boley Braden Boley 6'3" | SF Chaparral | 2021 State CO – Chaparral
Boley is my pick for the No.1 glue guy in the 2021 class and is a player that I truly believe could be put on ANY team, and they would start winning. He does all of the small things and is willing to lay it all out on the line, and we got to see that on display on Chaparral’s mini0run that fell short of the Final 4 run to the eventual state champs. Boley put his team in positions to win every night as the 6’2 wing played off of the ball and found gaps in the defense, filled lanes correctly, and was one of the best positional rebounds in the state. He was a reliable scorer and facilitator in the playoffs as he found open teammates, quickly rotated the ball without forced shots, and kept plays alive. He did things that were under the radar but made a big impact.
Greyson Carter Greyson Carter 6'4" | SF Fairview | 2021 State CO – Fairview
Carter was one of the best scorers the last two seasons and the word to describe him is; consistent. Carter was able to put up big games each night as a wing that can step down on the block and overpower players, and we saw that in his playoff run. Carter put up 18 points and 11 rebounds in the team’s opening-round game and had 17 points in a win over Chatfield with 14 rebounds to go along with it. Carter is a force both out on the perimeter as a knock-down shooter that moves without the ball and sets screens and will press the issue if he has to for the offense to operate. He will not play basketball at the next level but is surely a player who can help a team out if he decided to. Solid career and a great playoff run for him.
Eddie Mcphee Eddie Mcphee 6'6" | SF Geore Washington | 2021 State CO – George Washington
McPhee’s best basketball is ahead of him, and that is a scary idea when you think about how he can take over in games at various times. There are flashes of dominance when he decides, and not many players in the state have that switch. McPhee is a player that plays the right way and does not force the issue, which is a bit of a gift and a curse because if he made up his mind to be in control, it would be tough to slow him down. He has good stature at 6’5 and can shoot the mid-range, finish at or above the rim, guard multiple positions and compete for boards. In the playoffs, he averaged 12 points and 6.0 rebounds a game. He gave the Patriots an option on the wing, they used him the correct way defensively, and he was a reason that the Patriots made it to the big game again.
