He showed his ability to be a playmaker from the high post, making good passes which led to easy buckets for his team. His three point shooting is also an attribute that makes him an intriguing prospect when you consider the fact that he’s about 6’7 and shoots as well as, if not better than, some Guards.
Wayne Country Day Junior Guard Mike Best Mike Best 6'0" | PG Word of God | 2022 State NC got them going in the first half with scoring, showcasing his shooting ability from midrange and three point land. He plays the game with plenty of confidence, doesn’t back down from a challenge and brings a high motor whenever he’s on the court.
Trinity Academy Junior Guard Noah Ross Noah Ross 6'6" | SG Trinity Academy (Raleigh) | 2022 State NC was impressive with his outside shooting and how well he battles on the offensive boards. Just about every time a shot went up he was crashing the boards looking to give his squad extra possessions.
Trinity Academy Junior Wing Jakwon Moore Jakwon Moore 6'5" | SF New Life Christian | 2023 State NC is a slasher with athleticism and plenty of raw talent that can be developed. The next step for Moore will be improving his ballhandling and becoming a more consistent shooter but the potential is clearly there.
Wayne Country Day Sophomore Jordan Cooper Jordan Cooper 6'1" | CG Wayne Country Day | 2023 State NC showed up big time for his team, knocking down big time shot after shot from downtown. He wasn’t afraid of the movement and used this big time game to show some not only his shooting ability but also that he can be a very good defender as well.
Liberty Of Durham Junior Wing Jacques Peak is a name that you probably haven’t heard of before but he’s a legit player/prospect without a doubt. His team looked to him to provide a high amount of scoring in the state championship game and he did not let them down, scoring from all three levels despite seeing different types of defensive schemes.
