This weekend showcased the ability to score as offenses were shooting extremely well. They were doing it from behind-the-arc, free-throw line, drives to the bucket and more. Let’s take a look at some of the recent results.
Triple Digits!
The Cowboys meant business by hitting triple digits in the first round of the district tournament defeating Sho-Ban 107-32.
James Bodily James Bodily 6'2" | SF North Gem | 2021 State ID led the way with 27 points. Garrett Leavitt Garrett Leavitt 6'1" | SF North Gem | 2021 State ID had a career-high 20 points, Logan Corta Logan Corta 6'1" | SG North Gem | 2021 State ID poured in 14 and Brett Freeman added 13.
It was a total team effort by always making the extra pass. They were out there looking for one another and feeding off of the play they were showcasing.
Adrien Honena led Sho-Ban with nine points. The Chiefs started strong, but their 15 first-quarter points were nearly half of their output for the whole game.
Rockland Cruises in Round 1
The effects of a week-and-a-half layoff showed for Rocklan, who never quite got their offense in gear still handily beat Grace Lutheran in the first round of the district tournament 41-11.
The team looked sluggish coming off of the layoff but the team was there to battle and still dominate defensively. It will take a monstrous effort against North Gem but the defense showed up to present some optimism.
The game saw a rarity in the fourth quarter, with neither team scoring in the period as the Bulldogs coasted to the finish line. Is this a sign for Rockland? Whatever it may be their going to have to score to have a chance this week.
Braden Permann led Rockland with 10 points. Gavin Spencer had six for Grace Lutheran.
