Lincoln East
Carter Glenn Carter Glenn 5'11" | PG Lincoln East | 2021 State NE
Glenn paced the Spartans on the offensive end throughout the game with big play after big play. He always had an answer for a ranked Pius X squad who defeated Lincoln East by year earlier in the year. As the 36th ranked player in the 2021 class, Glenn showed exceptional ball handling ability and distributing this ball with ease. Where he really excels is his scoring talent, recording 26 points on 10-15 shooting. His pull-up jumper is fantastic, and he’s as gritty a player as you will find. Leaving with 3:15 to go after a pop to the mouth, he returned and went 3-4 from the line. Very strong play from a senior who averages 20.5 points per game.
Trevor Henrickson
Although unranked in the 2021 class, Henrickson impressed in a big game against the Thunderbolts last Thursday. Delivering 20 points on astounding 9-10 shooting from the field, he added 5 rebounds and a presence down low. He finished at the rim effectively, going up strong and giving Lincoln East some life. A couple of put-backs and a big three point play down the stretch showed the athleticism and poise he has as a player. His back cut proved effective all night, getting nice feeds from the Spartan’s experienced guards. It’s Henrickson’s third game in double digits, but he was the X factor in the first half pushing Lincoln East to a big win.
Lincoln Pius X
Sam Hastreiter Sam Hastreiter 6'6" | PF Lincoln Pius | 2022 State NE
Not much went right for the Thunderbolts last Thursday, however Hastreiter had a solid performance in a losing effort. A 6-foot-6 junior who is ranked 9th in next year’s class, had 18 points and 8 rebounds on 8-14 shooting. With a lone D-1 offer from the University of Idaho, he has impressed this season and will have another year to keep raising his stock. Although he only went 2-6 from beyond the arc, he was 6-8 inside the paint overpowering a solid Spartan defense. On a night where the Hoiberg twins struggled from down, Hastreiter picked up the slack and kept the Thunderbolts fighting all the way until the end.
Arlington
Aidan Foreman
Foreman has been a force to be reckoned with all year in Class C-1, consistently dominating in the paint game after game. From the start it was very obvious who Arlington’s offense ran through down low, scoring 17 points during the game and securing 13 rebounds. At 6-foot-5, he was a threat in the paint, throwing down a game changing dunk in the 4th quarter to give the Eagles the lead and momentum. His jump is impressive and the attention he draws with the ball in the paint, proves how much of a problem he is for opposing defenses. Although unranked, he has averaged 17 points and nine rebounds during the season, pushing Arlington to an 11-7 record.
