The Little Elm Lobos earned a 73-72 home victory over the Denton Guyer Wildcats on Tuesday, the Wylie Pirates hosted and defeated the South Garland Colonels 62-51 on Thursday, and the Lewisville Farmers escaped with a 64-59 road win against the Hebron Hawks on Friday.
Here are five standout seniors from this past week’s action:
Kylin Green Kylin Green 6'0" | PG Lewisville | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’0’’ Point Guard | Lewisville HS – Green did a great job balancing his responsibilities as a playmaker and a scorer. The senior guard was terrific at attacking off the dribble and finishing from tough angles. His success in that department forced Hebron to play him straight up, allowing him to draw in defenders and find open shooters. He sees what the defense is giving him and attacks accordingly, displaying excellent decision making. Green ended the game with 21 points.
Kobe Wiggins Kobe Wiggins 5'9" | PG Wylie | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 5’9’’ Point Guard | Wylie HS – Wiggins was extremely productive vs. South Garland. He scored in a variety of ways but was particularly good inside when utilizing his quickness with the ball to get into the paint, finishing in traffic on numerous occasions. Don’t let his size fool you, because he is a crafty bucket getter who is unafraid of taking some hits on his way to the basket, as well as a willing rebounder and an opportunistic defender. The Wylie senior accounted for 29 points, nine rebounds, and three assists on Thursday.
Brayden Bradshaw Brayden Bradshaw 6'5" | SF Denton Guyer | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’5’’ Small Forward | Denton Guyer HS – Bradshaw didn’t fool around with jumpers on Tuesday. Instead, he dominated in the post with his size and physicality. The senior forward refused to settle, understanding that he could not be stopped on the block. He displayed a good combination of back-to-the-basket and face-up scoring while exclusively taking high-percentage shots. That shows maturity and discipline. Additionally, Bradshaw is a strong rebounder and a solid ball handler who is athletic enough to go coast-to-coast after securing a board. He finished the night with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Mike Prather | 2021 | 6’0’’ Combo Guard | Little Elm HS – Prather was one of the first prospects I ever wrote about for Prep Hoops, and he has since impressed me with every subsequent viewing. He has a well-rounded game and plays hard at both ends of the floor. The 2021 prospect showed off his offensive duality vs. Guyer, operating efficiently on and away from the ball. He hit a three and scored off the drive in the first quarter but was at his best late in the fourth, aggressively attacking the basket and earning trips to the foul line. Doing so allowed him to bury a go-ahead free throw in the closing seconds of the contest. His 17 points and four assists were a huge component in Little Elm’s one-point victory on Tuesday.
David Deal | 2021 | 5’11’’ Point Guard | Hebron HS – Deal had a quiet first half against Lewisville. However, he did not let that discourage him, coming alive in the third quarter with some brilliant takes to the basket. I believe that a response such as that really shows how mentally tough a player is. He went coast-to-coast on several occasions, exhibiting his ability to handle the ball with a full head of steam in the open court. Furthermore, the senior guard was perfect from the free-throw line and delivered accurate passes in the half court. It is also worth noting that Deal dropped 21 points in the following game, leading Hebron to victory over Plano East.
