All 3 were involved in very competitive and entertaining games. East Lansing held on to beat Grand Ledge 52-50, while Bridgeport fell in overtime to Freeland.
Brevin Jackson (2022, SG, East Lansing)
I came away impressed. Jackson had good body control and could finish creatively. He had a quick first step with the ball in his hands.
David Wilkerson David Wilkerson 6'2" | PG East Lansing | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, East Lansing)
Wilkerson is still severely underrated as a prospect and a player. He’s a more than solid ball handler that’s efficient with the rock. He relieves a lot of pressure in the backcourt.
Marcus Wourman Marcus Wourman 5'10" | PG East Lansing | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, East Lansing)
Wourmann is a dynamic point guard. He’s steady with the ball, especially late in the game. Wourmann continuously drew fouls on drives to the rim. He had good firm post entry passes that went above the defenders reach.
Nick Ellis Nick Ellis 6'7" | PF Grand Ledge | 2022 State MI (2022, PF, Grand Ledge)
Ellis continues to impress after a solid showcase season. He had some big buckets in the paint and showed some nice post moves in the process. Ellis was strong enough to finish through contact.
David Rivera (2021, PG, Grand Ledge)
I really liked seeing the ball in his hands to initiate the offense. He always seemed to find space in the lane where he showed the ability to connect from mid range, even when contested.
Teddy Williams Teddy Williams 6'6" | PF Grand Ledge | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Grand Ledge)
Williams did a nice job backing down and drawing defenders which opened up some mid range jumpers for his teammates. Williams was strong on his boxouts and solid on the glass.
Remaureon Arthur (2021, PG, Bridgeport)
Arthur’s in your face defensive style was an asset for Bridgeport. He showed some passing prowess with a nice skip pass into the paint that put a teammate in scoring position.
Jaylen Hodges Jaylen Hodges 6'3" | PG Bridgeport | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Bridgeport)
It wasn’t his biggest offensive performance, but he is at a different level athletically. Hodges is simply explosive coming off the ground and attacking the rim with the ball.
Omarion Wilkins (2021, PF, Bridgeport)
I liked how active Wilkins was on the offensive end. He was constantly screening, rolling off the screens, and showing himself for the pass from the ball handler.
