As always, college programs should be checking out the rest of our lists. We’ve broken down every top available senior prospect outside of Centers, and that list is coming soon.
Ryan Suever Ryan Suever 6'7" | PF Ottoville | 2021 State OH , 6’7 PF Ottoville 2021: Suever can play both the PF and C position, at 6’7 he can space the floor and makes smart decisions with the basketball. I caught Suever for the first time in person on Saturday, and while it was a noncompetitive almost 70 point blowout, I saw what Suever could do on a basketball court. A player who has battled injuries his entire high school career, if Suever can stay healthy for the playoffs, I could see him boosting his stock in the playoffs.
Colton Vaughn Colton Vaughn 6'4" | PF Eastern Brown | 2021 State OH , 6’4 PF Eastern Brown 2021: Eastern Brown is currently 19-1 and maybe the best team in all of Southeast Ohio this season. They just drove over two hours to Vincent and ran the Warren Warriors out of their own gym. Vaughn is a high feel PF who can pass the ball and plays in control. He’s a little limited athletically, but makes up for it with pump fakes and pivots. Vaughn should be at the top of lists for small colleges still looking for a versatile forward that has a winning background.
Ayden Schneider Ayden Schneider 6'5" | PF La Salle | 2021 State OH , 6’5 PF La Salle 2021: Another undersized PF, Schneider has a high motor and gets after it on the glass. While La Salle has struggled in the highly competitive GCL-South this season, Schneider and Justin Lovette Justin Lovette 5'11" | SG LaSalle | 2021 State OH have had solid seasons for the Lancers. This pair of seniors has a chance to pull some upsets in the playoffs, after a tough regular season schedule has them prepared for anything.
Andrew Wade Andrew Wade 6'5" | PF Olentangy Liberty | 2021 State OH , 6’5 PF Olentangy Liberty 2021: Wade is one of my favorite small school prospects in the state. Wade plays super hard on both end and loves contact. Almost every time I watch Olentangy Liberty, Wade is productive against other top forward talent. Wade can’t really space the floor at all, and isn’t a C. But, he’s a winning basketball player who produces a lot around the basket. If you can pair him with a floor spacing C at the next level, I think Wade can be very productive in college.
Justin Garcia Justin Garcia 6'6" | PF Westlake | 2021 State OH , 6’6 PF Westlake 2021: Garcia was somebody who shined at the NEO Top 20 combine second session. Playing in a conference mostly known for its football prowess, Garcia has kinda flown under the radar among other NEO prospects. Garcia can put it on the floor and space the floor, he might have the highest offensive upside of any player featured in this article. I’d imagine Division III programs around northeast Ohio are making Garcia a very high priority.
David Gentry David Gentry 6'5" | PF Hudson | 2021 State OH , 6’5 PF Hudson 2021: Gentry was another standout at the NEO Top 20 combine second session. Gentry works hard on the glass and can finish around the basket with both hands. Gentry is efficient from the mid-range area. Another prospect that Division III programs should be all over.
Owen Nichols Owen Nichols 6'7" | PF Ottawa-Glandorf | 2021 State OH , 6’7 PF Ottawa-Glandorf 2021: Nichols was impressive when I saw him against Toledo St Francis over the weekend, showing improved mobility on the perimeter from last season. Nichols looked very capable of spacing the floor stretched to the 3-point line and found success against weaker defenders in the post. With Nichols and Brennen Blevins Brennen Blevins 5'11" | SG Ottawa-Glandorf | 2021 State OH , small colleges in NW Ohio should be checking out Ottawa-Glandorf games.
