1. Jack Bright Jack Bright 6'5" | SF Garrison | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-5 F| Garrison – 28 points, one 3-pointer, and 5-6 from the FT-line. This athletic lefty was great tonight. Early in the game, he had a nice drop-step kiss off the glass bucket to get his scoring going. Jack is an unselfish passer. He has an impressive 15-foot mid-range jump shot. I like how he seals the defender in the post and finishes quickly before the double team can get there. Jack knocked down a smooth top of the key 3-pointer in the first half, he has a nice stroke from the arc. His length and athleticism allow him to block shots. He cuts great against the zone and hit multiple jumpers against it. I was impressed with his athletic finishes in transition. He showed off his great hops with an offensive rebound put-back in transition. It was fun to watch him elevate above the crowded paint and rip away rebounds. He looks to be a solid and confident free-throw shooter. Jack has great balance that allows him to finish after contact. He looked like an All-State player tonight.
2. Logan Becker (2021) |6-3 F| New Salem/Almont – 16 points and 2-2 from the line. He is a strong and powerful post. Logan is a force in the paint. He has a soft touch around the basket. Logan showed off his passing skills with a backdoor dime to a teammate for an easy basket. He is great at sealing deep in the post. Logan has mature post moves. He does an excellent job of setting up the defense. I like his spin-move in the post. He is a physical finisher that does not shy away from contact.
3. Devon Crawford (2021) |5-10 G| Garrison – 14 points, one triple, and an impressive 5-5 from the free-throw line. He showed great hustle early in the game while diving on the floor for a loose ball. Devon is a quick player who looked great in transition. I was impressed with his fake-crossover and his handles. He hit a smooth in-rhythm triple in transition. Devon had a strong post-up 3-point play off a BLOB. I liked his baseline drive and how he finished through contact. He had 2 clutch FT’s late to close out the game. Devon had two steals late in the 4th quarter to help finish off the Holsteins.
4. Weston Kuhn Weston Kuhn 6'5" | PF New Salem/Almont | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-5 F| New Salem/Almont – 7 points in the game. He has a long wingspan that is disruptive on defense. Weston is a solid rebounder. I liked how strong he posts up and finishes at the rim. He showed great touch when throwing a high-low pass to Becker. He hit a nice 15-foot jumper in the 2nd half. Weston is a versatile player with plenty of potential to grow his game.
5. Connor Kerzmann Connor Kerzmann 6'1" | SG Garrison | 2023 State ND (2023) |6-1 G| Garrison – 8 points in the game. He is a good athlete with solid ball skills. I like his quick first step when attacking. He has nice proper shooting form. In the 4th quarter, he showed his flexibility and athleticism with a quick transition finish. He had a quiet night in the scoring column, but you can tell you has a great feel for the game.
6. Jackson Rensch (2021) |6-0 G| Garrison – 11 points, one 3-pointer, and 4-6 from the charity stripe. He had an impressive drive and finish in the first half. Jackson had a big 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory.
7. Dylan Rud Dylan Rud 5'10" | SG New Salem/Almont | 2022 State ND (2022) |5-10 G| New Salem/Almont – 11 points one 3-pointer and 2-4 from the line. I was impressed with his backdoor cut and finish in the first half. Dylan showed strength with a strong drive through traffic and finish after contact.
8. Jayden Selzler (2021) |5-9 G| New Salem/Almont – 4 points in the game. He hit a nice mid-range jumper to start the game. Jayden has solid fundamentals and is strong with the basketball. He has good eyes, and he throws crisp passes.
9. Jackson Rud (2021) |5-11 G| New Salem/Almont – 6 points with two triples. He had a smooth spot-up 3-pointer in the first half. I liked his pull-up triple in the fourth quarter from the top of the key.
