Javonte Taylor Javonte Taylor 6'7" | PF Donda Academy | 2023 #41 Nation CA-S (Kenwood)
Ranking: #1
Taylor showed why he is the top sophomore in the state throughout the winter at Rock N Ball League. The face up four man had it all working. He plays above the rim throwing down alley oops along with dunking in transition. Turns his defense into offense quickly getting steals when defending on the perimeter. Uses his length to pick his opponent and take it the other way. He is a high level shot maker from beyond the arc with his shooting. Drills an array of them well beyond the arc.
Donaven Younger Donaven Younger 6'8" | C Bolingbrook | 2023 State IL (Bolingbrook)
Ranking: #3
It has always been about upside with Younger and we have been waiting for it to click. Started to see glimpses of that this winter. The athletic four man ran the floor consistently well for easy buckets in transition. Flashes footwork on the block and has a chance to be an excellent shot blocker.
Davius Loury Davius Loury 6'8" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ (Kenwood)
Ranking: #8
Kenwood post stands at 6’7’ with a strong build. Physical four man plays with power around the hoop. Quick second jump to the glass snatching rebounds. Finishes with thunderous slams while also really improving his ability to step out and knock down a three. That area of his game continues to develop. Defensively he is a tough post defender that anchors down low and can block shots.
Owen Freeman Owen Freeman 6'10" | C Moline | 2023 State #179 Nation IL (Bradley Bourbonnais)
Ranking: #9
The 6’9” center is a strong bodied post that has immense skill. His hook shot is one of his biggest strengths. Knows how to position his body in the post to get deep post position on the catch or seal off his opponent. Looked good shooting it from mid-range. Can push off a defensive rebound. High level rebounder that brings athleticism to the front court.
Wesley Rubin Wesley Rubin 6'7" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State IL & Miles Rubin Miles Rubin 6'7" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State #243 Nation IL (Homewood Flossmoor)
Ranking: #16 & #17
These twins are ready to breakout. The 6’7” HF duo are D1 prospects with their elite shot blocking prowess to go along with skill on the offensive end. Can play inside/out on that end of the floor. Very bright futures here for the Chicago Lockdown duo.
Darrion Baker Darrion Baker 6'8" | PF St Rita | 2023 State #227 Nation IL (St. Rita)
Ranking: #18
This athletic and mobile four man has nice length and is a factor on the defensive end with the way he moves both in the paint and on the perimeter. Brings quickness inside on the offensive end.
Chris Martin (Schaumburg)
Ranking: #20
Martin is a 6’6” four man that has broad shoulders and a strong frame. He had a nice outing using his mobility and strength to finish on the interior. Ran the floor hard for transition scores, garnered deep post position, and even put it on the deck a little. Martin is a quality rebounder.
Chikasi Ofoma Chikasi Ofoma 6'6" | C Curie | 2023 State IL (Simeon)
Ranking: #21
Ofomoa is a bit raw at times and still finding his way, but really like the potential here. Strong bodied four that plays with a motor and is at his best when playing with his high activity level around the hoop. Gets on the glass with bounce.
Tyler Van Gorp Tyler Van Gorp 6'10" | C New Trier | 2023 State IL (New Trier)
Ranking: #26
Van Gorp is a 6’10” rail thin five man with upside. He shows a little bit of everything with seals for scores, running floor hard, and blocking shots. Has face up shooting ability.
George Bellevue George Bellevue 6'5" | PF Lincoln Way East | 2023 State IL (Lincoln Way East)
Ranking: #28
Bellevue is a 6’5” super bouncy four man that has great projectability long term especially if he can grow a couple more inches. So explosive in the paint with his hops. The area we came away most impressed with was the growth in his perimeter shooting knocking down a pair of spot up threes from the corner along with a mid-range jumper in a recent scrimmage. Major factor in transition as a rim runner.
