As you know, there are many top-level football players who also put in work on the basketball court. However, this group of athletes are the big, big boys who you will see dominate on the interior line on Friday nights during football season, then play a strong low post game during the winter. These are the Big’Ins. When they decide to assert themselves in the low post, people start moving like furniture.
John Wilson John Wilson 6'6" | PF St. Charles West | 2021 State MO 6’6″ St. Charles West: The 300-pound 2021 offensive lineman has already committed to Lindenwood University right there in his hometown of St. Charles. He is also an excellent basketball player who has been a regular on the summer grassroots circuit throughout his career. He has tough moves around the basket with a good shooting touch and nice passing skills out of the double team. He is averaging 12 points and seven rebounds with a shooting percentage that is well North of 60 percent from the field.
Lucas Morrison Lucas Morrison 6'9" | PF Salem | 2021 State MO 6’9″ Salem: Big Luke is another 300-pounder who played on the line and also was probably the biggest kicker in the state during football season. He is also a very good basketball player with power moves in the post and the ability to step out and hit the 15 footer from the high post. He’s a good passer and he can move as well, especially on the defensive end when he can come over to block a shot from the weak side.
Jakobie Breshears 6’5″ Slater: The 310-pound 2021 center was a Class 1 All-State offensive lineman in football. He is a strong low-post player on a good basketball team who can create the space with a simple drop step move. He does a good job catching the ball and he has a nice touch around the basket.
Cade Limback 6’4″ Lafayette County: The 2023 Limback is a young 310-pound powerhouse who earned Class 2 All-State honors as an offensive lineman. He is a very effective basketball player on a xx team that is one of the best in Class 2 this winter. When he gets the ball inside, he can score at a high rate. I watched him in the championship game of the Hamilton Tournament when he scored 16 points in a victory.
