Akok Aguer Akok Aguer 6'3" | SG Sf Washington | 2021 State SD of SFW (6’2 Sr Wing). I’m all in on Akok. You can’t be as explosive and productive as Akok is and not playing at a good college basketball program someplace next year. He came into the game shooting 45 percent at the arc and knocked out three triples immediately! The agility is there, the shooting is obviously there, and the production is there. Looking forward to seeing the future of Akok Aguer Akok Aguer 6'3" | SG Sf Washington | 2021 State SD .
Angok Akot of SW (6’6 Jr Center). There is a lot of potential in Akot’s game. He is very long, agile, and quick off his feet. Akot is still learning how to play at this level but his length is quite useful getting deflections, blocks, and shot contests. He’s a tough player to score over and if he gets a step to the rebound it’s his. When he makes the right cut with a timed catch Akot will be one of the best finishers at the rim you will see (high percentage finisher, aka dunks).
Caden Ellingson Caden Ellingson 6'7" | C Tea Area | 2021 State SD of Tea Area (6’7 Sr Center). The future South Dakota football player has really grown as a hooper. A like the anger he plays with as well as the determination he battles behind in the paint. He’s rebounding at a high rate right now and last night he out-fought the Warrior bigs for an 11 point, 10 rebound double-double.
Garrett Kolbeck Garrett Kolbeck 5'11" | PG Tea Area | 2021 State SD of Tea Area (5’11 Sr Guard). The grit that Garrett plays with is something I admire. Not only is he a battler but Garrett also seems like a confident player. Tea Area needs him to be a wing scorer and last night he gave his team a dozen points. When Lundin has Kolbeck and Jeff Worth Jeff Worth 5'11" | PG Tea | 2022 State SD on as shooters on the two wings they will be tough to beat. Garrett is committed to Jamestown.
Cael Lundin Cael Lundin 6'3" | SG Tea Area | 2022 State SD of Tea Area (6’3 Fr SG). There are a few parts of Cael’s game that are special because they are so hard to defend. One part is his ability to catch the ball with feet set and quickly dart to space. Defenders have to be in perfect position to take away his angles and often when the ball is reversed that is just too much to ask. He gets to corner turns and windows at the rim to make plays that few others in the state can. Also, the lift on his feet set jumper is strong and the pull-up jumper is so tough to guard because Cael gets to his balance and then lifts so quickly that defenders can’t recover. Even the best defenders from the best team in the state. Cael scored 28 points hitting all nine foul shots, three threes, and 8 of 21 shots total.
Mikele Kambalo Mikele Kambalo 5'8" | PG Washington | 2022 State SD of DFW (5’8 Jr PG). Mikele has rare speed. If he gets the ball in quick transition or on a straight line attack he’s too quick to get in front of. At his size he’s going to continue to use that pull-up a bit more and more and stopping him from getting to the jump-stop is a tough chore because he’s so quick. Had ten points and four assists. His attacks to the cup that lead to kick-outs are constantly opening up shooters as are his quick transitions.
Tahj Two Bulls Tahj Two Bulls 6'4" | PF Sioux Falls Roosevelt | 2021 State SD of SFW (6’4 Sr PF). Tahj took over the second half because Tea Area doesn’t have a strong enough player that can move with him. What he did wasn’t complicated, Tahj used his strength off hard cuts and board attacks to collect and finish. He extended possessions on the glass one way, ended them the other way. Had 14 points points and I believe all of them were in the second half.
Eli Williams Eli Williams 6'1" | SG Sioux Falls Washington | 2021 State SD of SFW (6’1 Sr Guard). Eli plays everywhere, does everything. What makes Eli so useful is that every night Washington plays a different opponent that does something a but different. Washington can just plug Eli into a spot and take advantage of whatever they feel like attacking. Somebody playing a zone? Cool, flash Eli high post and let him pick it apart. Guarding Eli with a smaller guard? Post them up. Somebody pressuring Washington to the point of not being comfortable? Eli can handle it. He boards, he moves the ball, Eli finishes in traffic, he just does what you need, and a lot of it. Had 15 points and four assists last night highlighted by his perfect foul shooting on six attempts.
