Section XI Weekly Wrap-up

Well, it’s been a crazy week for high school basketball fans, parents, players coaches, and yes, even social media guys. Trying to find out what the rules are for starting up games. It seems that some schools will allow parents some will even allow media but it seems like it’s up to the individual school. So if your son is playing I suggest you call up the home school he is playing and find out if you can attend. As of today, the season looks to be starting on Feb 9 and lasting about 4 weeks. Adrian Brooks. 5”10. 2021. Huntington HS A tremendous passer. Makes the right play with the ball in his hand. Very good in transition. High basketball IQ. Can create space for himself with his handle. Continues to work on his shot beyond the arc. No doubt a player who can play at the next level. Charlie Girimonti 6”3 2022. Huntington HS Can play multiple positions. Can score in the post but also step out on the perimeter. High basketball IQ. Has made a conscious effort to be more physical around the rim. A capable scorer who just needs to add experience and confidence to his game. Zach Gordon 6”5. 2021. Huntington HS Can really shoot it. A big man who can step out and consistently drill the jumper. Working on being more aggressive taking to the basket. An excellent mid-range game, Very skilled player. Has been working on guarding the ball and making the right reads on defense. Isiah Randolph. 6”3. 2021. Brentwood HS A tremendous athlete. Strong bodied tough player. Has the city game mentality. Finishes through contact. Extremely quick for his size. Hard to stop going to the hole. Working on his perimeter shooting.
