The 2024 Palmetto State Class made some strong impressions yesterday and Prep Hoops is here to tell you about some of these players right here in this article.
Montreal Jenkins Montreal Jenkins 5'8" | PG James Island | 2024 State SC – Cathedral Academy (North Charleston)
Jenkins a undersized shooting guard can really filled it up in a hurry at times. Jenkins gets the ball into the gaps and can knockdown perimeter jumpers with ease. Jenkins is geared to score the ball while on the floor for the Generals (17-1). Jenkins and Simmons both played last summer on the same grassroots team along with Quadir Scott Quadir Scott 6'2" | CG Socastee | 2024 State SC .
RJ Simmons RJ Simmons 6'0" | PG James Island | 2024 State SC – Cathedral Academy (North Charleston)
Simmons a combo guard was the Region Player of the Year this season for the Generals. Simmons plays very mature for his age. Simmons uses the ball screens well to advance the ball to the cup. Simmons is the primary ball-handler for the Generals most of the time. Simmons has great body control going to the basket and finishing at the rim.
Kai Murdock Kai Murdock 6'5" | SF Wando | 2024 State SC – Cathedral Academy (North Charleston)
Murdock a slender-sleek forward was extremely active all day long for the Generals on the glass. Murdock is still growing and really plays well inside the paint. Murdock runs the floor and wasn’t afraid to take a charge yesterday. Murdock is a great 3rd option on this Generals squad behind Jenkins and Simmons. The future looks bright for Head Coach Blake Ferguson.
Brock Ray Brock Ray 6'11" | C St John's Christian | 2024 State SC – St John’s Christian (Moncks Corner)
Ray is new to the game and a very RAW talent. Ray finished with 14 points today in the lopsided win for the Cavaliers. Ray showed to have decent hands and soft touch at times around the basket. Ray is a legit 6’11 (265) in the paint. Ray will be a name to monitor down the road for sure and still needs to just keep playing for Head Coach Drew Crowell. Crowell played at West Ashley HS and then in college at Wofford University.
Isaiah Anderson Isaiah Anderson 6'5" | PF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC – Hilton Head Christian (pictured on front)
Prep Hoops first saw Anderson playing with a local Grassroots team on the summer circuit the Bluffton Bulls. Anderson does all his work inside the paint and doesn’t seem to play timid at all. Anderson will play with his back to the basket and post-up down low. Anderson likes to play the game on contact and really runs the floor well and finishes in transition. Anderson was able to contest several shots today in the paint in the Eagles win over Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach.
Quadir Scott Quadir Scott 6'2" | CG Socastee | 2024 State SC – Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Scott has been here all season long for the Saints. Scott a left-handed very athletic guard is still learning how to play the game. Scott really likes to play up and down the floor with his style of playing attacking the rack. Scott has great length to get his hands on a lot of balls in the passing lanes.
