The 2023 Palmetto State Class has added some new names to the database from the SCISA State Tourney. Lets take a look at some of these players right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State.
Lawson Wade Lawson Wade 6'5" | SF Richard Winn Academy | 2023 State SC – Richard Winn Academy (Winnsboro) (pictured on front)
Wade was a great surprise here today for the Eagles with his play. Wade a rangy guard knocked down 7 three pointers on his way to 27 points for the Eagles. Wade has a bit of low shot release was able to to knockdown shots at a high rate on the perimeter. Wade could still be growing like his older brother Hudson who was 6’7 when he graduated. Wade averaged 12.6 ppg this season for the Eagles.
Andrew Helms Andrew Helms 5'6" | PG Hilton Head Prep | 2023 State SC – Hilton Head Christian
Helms helped the Eagles beat Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach in the opening round. Helms a small guard plays the game with no fear at all. Helms came up big down the stretch for the Eagles scoring 15 points in the win. Helms a heady guard connected on some outside jumpers but was also the player who ignited the engine for the Eagles in the win.
David Elam David Elam 6'3" | PG Keenan | 2023 State SC – Mead Hall (Aiken)
Elam was a name I had heard before but had never seen him play until today. Elam a left-handed rangy guard plays in a very small school over in Aiken. Elam didn’t have much support around him in the Panthers lost to St John’s Christian. Elam slashes to the cup with good body control and shows to have a good feel for the game. Elam for sure plays off the grid over in Aiken County for the Panthers. Elam scored 19 points in the opening round loss to St John’s Christian.
Greyson Singletary Greyson Singletary 6'1" | SG Dillon Christian | 2023 State SC – Dillon Christian
Singletary has put up solid numbers all season long for the (19-3) Wildcats. Singletary a very deceptive athlete plays the game with great deal of confidence from behind the arc. Singletary has connected on 45% (55-121) from three point range. Singletary a catch-shoot guard scored 7 points in a blowout win for the Bulldogs over Beaufort Academy.
