Brown is close with his family and grew up around the game. His older sister, Keyana, played in 4 state championships. She won state player of the year multiple times and scored 2500 points at Williamsburg Christian Academy.
“On the basketball side, it’s a very underrated city in the state,” Brown said of his hometown. “We have a lot of unselfish talent.”
Brown recently decided to transfer to Oak Hill Academy and play for legendary Coach Steve Smith. He did so in search of a better opportunity to show what he can do against national competition.
At the NIBC Invitational, Brown’s blue-collar style of play was on full display. He provided a consistent spark off the bench for the Warriors and made a difference on both ends.
“My game is very intense. I always have high energy and I’m a leader on the court,” Brown explained. “I pride myself on defense and I can score the ball at two levels. I’m improving my three-ball.”
Multiple D1’s are tracking Brown at the moment. He has an offer from Bryant but is also hearing from Radford, UNC Wilmington, James Madison, VCU, Old Dominion, and NJIT.
What is Brown looking for in a school?
“A school that makes me feel welcome and plays my style of basketball.”
