Hayden Doyle Hayden Doyle 6'0" | CG Brookfield East | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Brookfield East
In his final high school game, Doyle went down swinging. The Washington (St. Louis) commit dropped 31 points in a loss to Brookfield Central on Friday. Doyle did just about everything he could to try and extend East’s season. Doyle was working extremely hard off the ball all game long to free himself against one of the state’s top defenders. He had to extend his range at times and was able to drill some tough 3-pointers with a hand in his face. Using a very quick first-step, Doyle ripped and got to the bucket before the help defense could arrive. On the ball, Doyle has gotten a lot quicker and plays lower to the ground. He absolutely shook some people in the open floor on Friday. Getting his teammates involved as well, Doyle did an excellent job of pushing the ball up the floor, especially after makes, leading to some momentum-changing buckets.

Tommy Ellisen – 2021 – SG – Kimberly
One reason I believe Kimberly is the team to beat in Division 1, Ellisen has been so good for the Papermakers this season in a complementary role to their stars. The senior guard, who’s committed to play baseball at UCONN, just breaks opponent’s backs with timely 3-pointers. Most teams just don’t have the depth to match up with Kimberly and have to concentrate on the two Division 1 recruits in the starting lineup. In Saturday’s win over Neenah, Ellisen connected on four 3-pointers en route to 15 points. Defensively, he came up big in the second half. After Cal Klesmit Cal Klesmit 6'2" | CG Neenah | 2023 State #235 Nation WI got hot, Ellisen guarded the stud sophomore and held him to one point after halftime, which paid huge dividends.
Chevalier Emery Jr Chevalier Emery Jr 6'1" | PG Neenah | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Neenah
Thought Emery had one of the best defensive efforts against Jackson Pavaletzke this season. Outside of 2-3 shots, Pavaletzke earned everything he got. Emery certainly won his fair share of individual battles as well, shutting off the paint and blocking/altering a handful of shots. Offensively, Emery also came up with 14 points for Neenah during Saturday’s loss at Kimberly. With his team starting to stall offensively in the second half, Emery helped pick up the slack. A dangerous 3-point shooter, Emery can also shoot off the bounce in the 16-18 foot range. The 5-foot-11 junior is very athletic for his build and can play above the rim. He’s also a tenacious defender who brings a ton of energy on that end of the floor and takes pride in generating stops.
David Joplin David Joplin 6'8" | SF Brookfield | 2021 State #54 Nation WI – 2021 – SF – Brookfield Central
Joplin had 32 points in Friday’s regional semifinal win at Brookfield East. Taking advantage of a big size differential, Joplin scored in the paint and in the mid-range at will. The Texas commit did a phenomenal job of handling double teams. Joplin was able to split through multiple defenders or just power his way right over the top en route to the bucket. Joplin was 13-of-15 shooting and also grabbed 13 rebounds. His three-point play in the final minutes helped seal the deal for the Lancers and push them into the regional finals.

Cal Klesmit Cal Klesmit 6'2" | CG Neenah | 2023 State #235 Nation WI – 2023 – G – Neenah
Neenah trailed by 13 points in the first half and Klesmit single-handendly brought them back. Behind his 15 first half points, the Rockets were able to close within two at the break. A top 10 sophomore, Klesmit got in a groove and took over the game. Klesmit started things off with a four-point play, knocking in a corner triple plus the foul. From there, Klesmit attacked and put Kimberly back on their heels. Although he wasn’t able to replicate that effort in the second half, Klesmit certainly boosted his stock with that spurt in a high-level game with Neenah’s season on the line.
Ben Nau Ben Nau 6'1" | PG Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Brookfield Central
Nau had 13 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists in Friday’s win over crosstown rival Brookfield East. Once he settled in defensively against Doyle, the game started to turn for Central. Using his lateral quickness and motor while chasing Doyle through screens, Nau started to wear on East’s offense and bring them to a halt. Helping ice the game late, Nau was a cool 7-of-8 from the free throw line. The St. Thomas commit didn’t shoot the ball particularly well from the floor, but his willingness to impact the game in ways other than scoring was key for Central to keep their season alive.
Jackson Paveletzke Jackson Paveletzke 6'1" | CG Kimberly | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Kimberly
How good has Paveletzke been this season? Outside of one spurt roughly mid-way through the first half, the junior guard was pretty much kept in check. Paveletzke still scored a game-high 24 points and out of our four viewings this season that was probably his worst game. You lose track of this kid for a second, it can absolutely cost you. Paveletzke took 21 shots, but never got frustrated while facing some terrific on-ball defense or Neenah packing the paint every time he touched it. Paveletzke always kept his head and when the Rockets did make a mistake, he was there to take advantage. Paveletzke also had a game-high seven assists and six rebounds during Saturday’s win.
Andrew Rohde Andrew Rohde 6'6" | SG Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Brookfield Central
Rohde is trending in the right direction heading into the spring. Have him ranked in the early teens right now, but definitely see the junior guard pushing for a top 10 spot in the class of 2022 rankings by this time next year. It can be tough to gauge his status, playing alongside two seniors both committed to play Division 1 ball, but Rohde has really come into his own this year. He chipped in with 19 points during Friday’s win over Brookfield East, including a nice spurt at the end of the first half to push Central ahead. A sniper with terrific positional size (6-4) and length, Rohde has a prototypical skillset for a two-guard. Despite his size, Rohde plays really low to the ground and has the ball on a string. He’s able to take smaller defenders off the dribble and do some damage in the paint. Also a really underrated defender, Rohde doesn’t get his due on that end of the floor. We’ve seen him guard a variety of players this season and held East’s second-leading scorer to just five points on Friday.
Matthew Schmainda Matthew Schmainda 6'2" | CG Brookfield East | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – Brookfield East
A player on the rise in 2023, Schmainda scored 18 points in a loss to Brookfield Central. A shot maker with a very quick release, Schmainda hit four triples on Friday and got East off to a fantastic start offensively. Schmainda has a lot of speed on and off the ball, that’s really tough for defenders to contain. Also a scrappy guard, Schmainda will battle on the offensive glass, play hard-nosed, physical defense, and using his strong frame to set a tone. Schaminda averaged better than 10 points per game this season behind two pretty talented upperclassmen prospects and should be ready to break out in 2021-22.
