These players might not be scoring a lot of points but that doesn’t mean they can’t play at the next level. Looking at the scoring leaders doesn’t always tell the entire story. Here are a few players that are under the radar.
6’6 SF/W Matt Rohden Matt Rohden 6'5" | SF Juan Diego | 2021 State UT , Juan Diego Catholic
Class of 2021 Matt Rohden Matt Rohden 6'5" | SF Juan Diego | 2021 State UT is a big body with a lot of skill. He is a 3-4 ish type player that can shoot the ball. He has a great looking shot from deep and 15-feet. Matt is more athletic and lean this year but he is still string as he has put on some muscle. He is fearless inside as he can get in a drop step dunk here and there. He really spreads the floor as a deep ball threat as well. Matt rebounds the ball well and can find the outlet man quickly and fill the lanes well. Matt would be an ideal fit at a NAIA or D2, but could easily find himself on a NJCAA team come next fall.
6’7 G Elijah Crockett Elijah Crockett 6'8" | SF West | 2021 State UT , West High School
Talk about a hidden gem. Elijah has the athleticism, skill, and speed to play at the next level. He actually might be a Division 1 sleeper. His team success is not what we are evaluating but his potential at the next level. Elijah is an Ivy League bound student that could find himself on a roster at that level next fall as well. He can play in that mid-range but also outside as a true guard. Elijah will surprise some people playing as an unsigned talent this Spring.
6’4 G Ben Krystowiak Ben Krystowiak 6'4" | CG Brighton | 2021 State UT , Olympus High School
Ben is a solid next level prospect as he can play 1-3 at the next level. Ben has a solid handle, can run the offense but he can also score the ball. He can get you from the outside and inside with his strong drives to the basket. Ben has been solid these past 4 years but this year he is a big reason Olympus will compete for a State Championship. Ben does average 10 PPG and 4 RPG but him controlling tempo and defending really goes unseen.
6’5 G Tyson Hawkins Tyson Hawkins 6'4" | PG Lehi | 2021 State UT , Lehi High School
If you drop Tyson on a lot of other teams and he scores 20 a game. Tyson is a 3 level scorer that is crafty. He can get to the basket from both sides of the court with simple moves as he uses his quickness and length. Tyson can hit from a spot up situation or create for himself from deep. With great court awareness and knack for the ball Tyson rebounds and defends. Tyson can play 1-3 and defend them at a high level as well. Tyson is one of those must watch players.
6’8 F/C Luke Armstrong Luke Armstrong 6'8" | C Cedar City | 2021 State UT , Cedar City High School
When it comes to bigs available there usually isn’t a lot to choose from. Luke is a prospect that can get up and down the floor really well in tempo. He sets good screens and rolls to the basket with a purpose. Luke can play on the block and he has good vision passing out of the post finding cutters and shooters. Luke is solid going to his right hand. A lot of growth left in his game.
