However, I haven’t seen everyone as much as I would like. There are several players out there that I caught a glimpse of, but would like to evaluate a little bit more, before adding them to the rankings. In this article, we take a look at some of the players on our Rankings Radar.
Mason Muir Mason Muir 6'2" | SG Liberty | 2022 State NV 5’9 SG Coronado 2022 – Muir moved here from the state of Washington where he played at Issaquah High School. I saw a little bit of him a couple of weeks ago in Arizona. and fell in love with his IQ and energy, but didn’t see enough of him to really nail down his skill set. The answer for this one is simple as I will be reviewing a ton of film on him from the MLK showcase.
Devon Richardson Devon Richardson 6'4" | SF Basic | 2021 State NV 6’3 SF Basic 2021 – I got a chance to see Richardson when he played in the first Cedar City Showcase. I love R&J athletes and he showed that. Need to evaluate him a little closer though as I would like to see how he uses his athleticism to generate buckets and plays for his team.
Joshua Goynes Joshua Goynes 6'0" | SG Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV 6’0 SG Faith Lutheran 2021 – Goynes is another player I had the privilege to see during the Cedar City Showcase. I like his motor and his frame. He showed a knack for manufacturing buckets for his team. His evaluation will be about finding out what position he is best suited to play.
Jyaire McGee Jyaire McGee 6'6" | PF Spring Valley | 2021 State NV 6’6 PF Spring Valley 2021 – McGee is a player I have yet to evaluate in person. I was impressed with his performance at Border League a few months back as he was one of the top rebounders from the event. I need to see him in person, I’m a big believer that size and frame are things that can only be evaluated live. With many college coaches looking for just that, the opportunity to evaluate him up close is an opportunity I don’t want to miss.
Trevon Rodgers 6’0 SG Durango 2023 (featured image) – I saw Rodgers play briefly during a few camps this fall. He was a decent player, but his 4.0 GPA instantly got my attention. IMO no one does a better job at developing players than Chad Beeten at Durango, because of that I’m excited to how he develops over the next couple of years in the program.
Andoni Fesenmaier Andoni Fesenmaier 6'4" | PF Elko | 2022 State NV 6’4 PF Elko 2021 – Fessenmier really impressed me at the Cedar City Showcase, however, it’s the only time, I’ve seen him play. He’s a big strong versatile kid that is a prototypical H.S post guy. What I’m interested in seeing again is how well does he hedge and switch ball screens, and how does he score? Once I answer these two questions, then I’ll be able to comfortably put him in the rankings.
