Cameron Beardsley, senior, Valley Heights:
The 6-foot-1 senior has been on a roll of late. He tossed in 26 against Washington County, followed by 29 against Blue Valley-Randolph. On Thursday he tossed in 19 in a win over Rossville. The veteran leader is finishing strong in his senior year.
Kaleb Becker Kaleb Becker 6'4" | SF Abilene | 2022 State KS , junior, Abilene:
The junior is just the model of consistency. He has scored at least 17 points in nearly every game this year, and he equaled that total again Thursday against Concordia. The rugged and versatile guard/wing can kill you in a multitude of ways.
Jimmy Dorsey Jimmy Dorsey 6'6" | SG Wellsville | 2022 State KS , junior, Wellsville:
The 6-foot-5 junior is a scoring machine. His 27 in a romp over Prairie View was his ninth 20-plus outing of the season. He gets it done from inside and out, and will be one of the top returning scorers in northeast Kansas next year.
Keller Hurla, sophomore, St. Marys:
St. Marys has a lot of good players, but the sophomore Hurla is more and more becoming the lead dog. He hit five 3-pointers and 6-6 from the line for 27 in a win over tough Riley County. Hurla has scored at least 11 points in each of the last eight games.
Miles Kitselman Miles Kitselman 6'5" | C Lyndon | 2021 State KS , senior, Lyndon:
The 6-foot-5 senior is a powerhouse that will make Lyndon a formidable foe come playoff time. Surrounded by talented players, he doesn’t always have to score to make an impact. But on Thursday, he showed why he’s one of the best bigs at the small school ranks with 18 points against Council Grove.
Brody Smith, senior, Santa Fe Trail:
The 6-foot senior had been slowed by injuries a bit lately. But he bounced back Thursday with 22 points, including four 3-pointers, against Iola. Smith has six games with 20 or more points.
Dawson Zenger Dawson Zenger 6'1" | CG Rock Creek | 2021 State KS , senior, Rock Creek:
You could write about Zenger every game. But when a guy drops 38 points, it’s worth noting. Amazingly, he put up that total without a single 3-pointer. He is just so unstoppable on the drive and on the break that he can rack up points the old fashioned way.
