Lamonte Cousar Lamonte Cousar 6'6" | SF Scotland | 2023 State NC | 6’6 Forward/Wing | Scotland
Cousar is a budding prospect at Scotland High School that brings a ton of presence in the frontcourt. He’s got solid length at 6-foot-6 that he uses well to battle on the interior on both ends. He’s posting 17.4 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 1.7 apg in his sophomore campaign along with three double-double so far for his squad. He’s a new face that’s turned heads carrying over from the grassroots season.
Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 6'5" | SG Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State NC | 6’5 Guard | Pine Forest
Washington is a versatile prospect at Pine Forest with high-major potential on the hardwood. He posted a season-high 37 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field this past Friday in a win over Grays Creek. He went 7-of-8 from behind the arc showing that when he’s locked in, he’s hard to stop. Colleges will want to track him now. He’s producing 23.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.0 spg and 1.2 apg while shooting 51 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range.
Sterling Vaughn Sterling Vaughn 6'0" | CG Glenn | 2023 NC | 6’0 Guard | Glenn
Vaughn is another new face in the ranks at Glenn High School that’s doing work in North Carolina’s sophomore class. He’s averaging 15.6 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.7 spg as they’re off to an 8-1 start. He bounced back after a loss to Davie on Feb. 3 with a season-high 25 points in their 59-55 victory on Friday. He’s finding his way as a threat on all three levels while also looking to make plays for others in the Glenn backcourt.
William Brimmer William Brimmer 6'2" | CG New Bern | 2023 State NC | 6’4 Forward/Wing | New Bern
Brimmer was a familiar face on grassroots scene this past summer and hasn’t let up on the high school stage at New Bern. He’s a versatile prospect that can score it in a variety of ways and rebound the ball. He’s putting up 15.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.9 apg, 2.6 spg and 2.1 bpg this season in his second year starting in the varsity rotation. He’s an active presence on both ends that makes plays in a variety of ways. He holds an offer from Jackson State.
William Otto William Otto 6'4" | CG Greensboro Day | 2024 State NC | 6’2 Shooting Guard | Broughton
Otto got out of the blocks a bit slow for the Broughton Capitals in the first two games, but he’s bounced back since, which has improved the result in turn. He’s a rising shooting guard with good instincts off the catch and creating off the bounce in the class. He’s put up 13.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg and 1.3 apg in his second year in the varsity lineup. He’s shooting 38 percent from the perimeter for a young, but improving squad. Look for his stock to grow some more as the season concludes.
Samuel Martin Samuel Martin 6'9" | C Apex | 2023 State NC | 6’8 Forward/Center | Apex
Martin has been one of a few prospects in the Apex rotation that’s had solid production in the lineup in 2020-21. He’s producing 12.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 2.6 bpg in the rotation as a breakout prospect this high school season. He’s an emerging prospect that operates on both ends as a paint presence with enough mobility to defend/play on the perimeter. As he learns to be a factor at all times on both ends, look for him to become a hot commodity in the class.
Joseph Bachman Joseph Bachman 6'8" | PF Greensboro Day | 2023 State NC | 6’9 Forward/Center | Laney
Bachman is another breakout frontcourt prospect that’s having a strong sophomore campaign. He’s averaging 10.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 1.9 bpg as the Buccaneers are off to a 7-1 start to the season. He’s posted three double-doubles so far to show his ability to be a paint presence on both ends. He’s got nice length and mobility that he uses well to make an impact.
