Kevion Waller Kevion Waller 5'5" | PG J.H. Rose | 2022 State NC | 5’7 Point Guard | JH Rose
Waller has largely picked up where he left off for JH Rose at the lead guard spot. He leads the team in assists (5.0 apg) and steals (2.7 spg) while also producing 13.0 ppg while shooting at volume for his squad. As he finds his rhythm in the last few games, look for him to put some strong performances together in the playoffs. He’s an underrated two-way floor general.
Montez Green Montez Green 6'2" | CG JH Rose | 2022 State NC | 6’1 Guard | JH Rose
Green is slowly emerging as a new face in the JH Rose rotation with the departure of a key piece from last season’s squad. He’s leading the Rampants in scoring (17.9 ppg) while also putting up 4.1 apg, 4.0 apg and 1.9 spg in the backcourt alongside Kevion Waller Kevion Waller 5'5" | PG J.H. Rose | 2022 State NC . He can space the floor with his shot and has the ability to make plays for others on the floor. They’re a scrappy backcourt tandem to keep track of in the 2022 class.
James Jones Jr. James Jones Jr. 6'4" | CG New Hanover | 2022 State NC | 6’4 Guard/Wing | New Hanover
Jones has gotten our attention with his ability to attack the rim and create off the bounce in the halfcourt and on the break. He’s a wiry prospect at 6-foot-4 that can get out and finish with authority in traffic as he’s done for New Hanover in 2020-21. He’s producing 13.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg and 1.7 spg through six appearances for them, shooting 41 percent from the field.
AJ Cook AJ Cook 5'10" | SG Weddington | 2022 State NC | 5’10 Shooting Guard | Weddington
Cook is another reason for Weddington’s 7-0 start to the 2020-21 season. He’s been electric making plays for himself and others, averaging 12.9 ppg, 3.0 apg, 2.9 rpg and 2.6 spg including a 25-point performance that saw him knock down a season-high seven 3-pointers against Marvin Ridge back on Jan. 19. He’s a shooter on the perimeter that can get hot in a hurry and make teams pay.
Gerren Jones Gerren Jones 6'0" | CG Swansboro | 2022 State NC | 6’0 Guard | Swansboro
Jones has been a consistent force in the Swansboro rotation despite the result, still finding consistency while averaging 17.0 ppg and 9.4 rpg despite his stature at 6-foot-0. He’s a competitor that still has put together four double-doubles through eight appearances while playing the guard spot, which is no easy feat. He’s one to get eyes on out at Swansboro.
Canon Keziah | 6’1 Shooting Guard | Topsail
Keziah is one of the more underrated shooters in the 2022 class at Topsail. He’s posted 10.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 2.3 apg in their backcourt this season while shooting just 30 percent from behind the arc. He’s still managed to make nine 3-pointers acxross their six games this season, which averages out to just about one 3-pointer per contest. As he finds his rhythm in the last few weeks, look for his game to grow.
Jackson Vick Jackson Vick 6'0" | CG Southern Nash | 2022 State NC | 5’11 Guard | Southern Nash
He’s their leading rebounder at 6.0 rpg despite standing at just 5-foot-11. He’s got a strong base and athleticism that allow him to operate fearlessly in the paint. He’s also a highly-rated football prospect (Defensive Back) with offers from Duke, NC State, Georgia State, Appalachian State, Charlotte and Coastal Carolina
Lenier Pocknett Lenier Pocknett 6'4" | PF New Hanover | 2022 State NC | 6’5 Forward | New Hanover
Pocknett is another junior prospect in the New Hanover rotation that’s finding his way. He’s putting up 10.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.5 spg and 1.2 apg through six games for them in 2020-21. He’s one of the more efficient prospects in their rotation, shooting 56 percent, though most of his attempts have come within the 3-point arc. He likes to stay within himself and operate around the paint, for now. He’s got a solid frame and length that allow him to defend either forward spot.
