Markus Nordin | 6’4” | Secondary guard with wing potential | Hamilton-Wenham | 2022
A dynamic and fluid mover in the open floor, Nordin brings both athleticism and versatility to the Generals. Having earned Cape Ann League Second Team honors, his impact on the game is felt on both sides of the floor. With the ability to handle the ball in the open floor, elevate with ease and willingness to make hustle plays, Nordin is on track to become a 1,000 point scorer for the Generals. In addition to his athletic ability, Nordin also has a very skilled off the dribble game, especially in the midrange. But Nordin isn’t just a pure scorer. Even as a screen setter, Nordin seems to understand when to roll, or pop into open space. This season, he is averaging 14.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.9 assists per game, as I’d expect Nordin, who is only a junior, to be a high impact player at the next level.
Cam Keliher | 5’10” | Combo Guard | Amesbury | 2022
A lights-out shooter, Keliher’s most notable shooting performance came with a 44 point explosion against Newburyport, CAL Kinney’s top ranked team. Of these 44 points, 33 of which came from beyond the arc. Averaging 19 points per game this season, Keliher has both a quick trigger release and out of the gym range. Always a threat to shoot and with a picture perfect form, he has a great understanding of spacing of where and when to relocate. Keliher is more than just a one dimensional shooter as he can create his own shot for himself and others off the live dribble. A sound decision maker with the ball in his hands, he has a smooth handle and can get to his spots when conducting the offense. Keliher also shows great effort on defense and isn’t afraid to dive on loose balls and pressure the opposing ball handler.
Harrison Lien | 6’3” | Combo-Guard | Georgetown | 2022
Georgetown’s season has been suspended thus far due to COVID-19 protocols, but during their 5 games, Lien showed his ability to lead a promising Georgetown team to a 5-0 start. Also leading this Georgetown team in scoring, having scouted him during the start of the season Lien brings versatility on both sides of the ball. He understands when to make the right reads and has great timing on his cuts. He has a great feel for the game and as a lefty shooter with a fluid stroke, Lien can get his shot off in tight spaces, both off the catch and with the ball in his hands. With the ability to make passes off the live dribble, Lien makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands and shows patience when setting up the offense. A tactile on-ball defender, Lien’s presence makes him a capable on-ball defender on the perimeter. A leader on the floor, Lien is also always in constant communication with his teammates.
Nikhil Walker | 6’6” | Big | Ipswich High School | 2021
As one of the best rebounders on the North Shore per Jason Campos, Walker provides a needed defensive force in the paint. Physical with his box-outs, Walker does a great job of roaming around in the paint on defense and making his presence felt with constant help-side rejections and contests. While his height enables him to get a lot of these boards, he has great timing and active hands both on the offensive and defensive glass as he routinely racks up double-doubles. Having averaged 10.8 points and 12.2 rebounds per game this season he can elevate in the open floor, but also has a capable touch around the rim. Also a football player, Walker also understands the art of sealing his man off in the post.
Ryan Hutchinson | 6’1” | Guard who plays up | Hamilton-Wenham | 2021
A volume scorer with an excellent feel for the game, Hutchinson plays with a controlled and trusted pace. Leading the 15-8 Generals in scoring averaging 15 points and five rebounds per game, Hutchinson’s efficient shot profile consists of a bunch of three’s and looks at the rim. He’s also showcased the ability to convert on well-timed spin move and seeks out contact on these rim attacks. An all around player Hutchinson is more than just a scorer. With a nose for the ball, coach DiMarino has lauded Hutchinson’s ability to rack up steals and apply the necessary defensive pressure, both on and off the ball. A versatile defender tasked primarily to guard the point of attack, Hutchinson racked up six steals in a recent game against North Reading.
