Chisom Okpara, La Lumiere, 6’7″, 2022
Okpara was very reliable for the Lakers during both weekends. Okpara put up 11.3 PPG across 6 showings, in which La Lumiere went 2-4. Okpara is a great shooter with high confidence in his shot. He also has the physical strength to score at multiple levels, and can get down low well and is effective at the free throw line. He’s defensively solid and can shut down offensive players whenever necessary. Chisom is a high D1 prospect with a host of offers, and will only get better from here on out.
JJ Starling JJ Starling 6'4" | PG La Lumiere | 2022 State #24 Nation IN , La Lumiere, 6’4″, 2022
Starling was far and away the best shooter and scorer at this tournament. Starling averaged 20.2 PPG, a tournament high, and made a tournament-high 22 threes on a tournament-high 52 attempts. Starling can shoot from anywhere on the floor, and was getting buckets from downtown in every game. Starling can also get to the basket and has a good physical skillset, including an elite quickness and shiftiness. Starling is underrated in his class, despite being the 59th ranked player by ESPN. He showed that he is one of the best players in the country and one of the most gifted scorers I’ve ever watched. He’ll be a steal for any program at the college level.
Jeremy Fears Jeremy Fears 6'1" | PG La Lumiere | 2023 GA Jr., La Lumiere, 6’1″, 2023
This is a player who plays way beyond his years. Fears has an elite handle, and an even more elite feel for the game. Defensively, Fears is great on the ball, averaging 2.7 SPG across the 6 games. He is the leader for a great La Lumiere team and can run the offense effectively. He plays with a high level of intentionality and discipline, as shown by his 5/9 three point shooting. He is wise beyond his years as a sophomore, and will be one of the highest IQ players in high school as his career progresses.
