Catholic is undefeated with all but one win coming by double digits. Ben has had a game of 50+ and is averaging 28 points per game while shooting 57% from the field, 47% from three and 82% from the free throw line. He’s also second on his team in rebounds with just under 7 per game. Between injuries and Covid stoppages, I’m not sure anyone else’s numbers can come close to that type of scoring efficiency and there’s a good chance Lexington Catholic is the best team in the state right now.

Zion has had a great career, including a state championship but if the award is considered to be based on Senior season and not career, he’ll struggle to win first region player of the year unless he gets back on the court very soon as ballots have already been sent out for voting. Before his injury, Zion was averaging 30.2 points with shooting splits of 52-23-64.
