Asa Thomas Asa Thomas 6'6" | SF Lake Forest | 2023 State #91 Nation IL (Lake Forest – 2023)
Thomas is a 6’5” shooting guard that has excellent size already for the college level and he is only a sophomore. Very skilled player which was shown throughout the first half. Hit a three as he is one of the better shooters in his class. Also passed it well finding his teammates on the move, got on the offensive glass, and had a couple steals. Finished with 14 points. Projects as a mid-major plus/high-major talent in a very strong 2023 class.
Walter Mattingly Walter Mattingly 6'6" | SF Deerfield | 2021 State IL (Lake Forest – 2021)
Mattingly is a versatile inside/outside threat from his power forward spot for Lake Forest. Already signed with Hillsdale for next year the top 30 senior was effective in this game using his length to win 50/50 rebounds in traffic. Had a pair of put backs on the offensive end. Stretched the floor hitting a three. Like what he did defensively when he was guarding Duff in the first half using his size, length, and mobility to contain him. Mattingly had 13 points in the win.
Darius Duff Darius Duff 6'3" | SG Lake Forest Academy | 2022 State IL (Lake Forest Academy – 2022)
It was a quiet opening half for the super scorer from LFA as Mattingly and company held him to five points. In the second half against Lake Forest’s reserves, he did showcase some of the skills which make him intriguing at the D1 level. Ultra smooth attacking in transition finding creases in the defense and being able to maneuver his body at the cup for difficult finishes. Quick acceleration in the open floor. Had a couple of steals that he turned into points on the other end en route to 18 points.
Anthony Wrzeszcz Anthony Wrzeszcz 6'4" | SG Lake Forest Academy | 2023 IL (Lake Forest Academy – 2023)
This Canadian wing is a two guard that we are tracking his progress. Highlights from Canada showed a lot of skills that translate. He had a solid first half putting it on the deck for a creative drive in the half court. Also hit an array of tough jumpers from mid-range, a step back triple, and a three from the top of the key. Plus shooter that has a nice build and solid athleticism. One to continue to monitor.
