Dawson Zenger Dawson Zenger 6'1" | CG Rock Creek | 2021 State KS , senior, Rock Creek:
No need to list these in alphabetical order. Zenger heads the list of scorers. He averaged 19 as a sophomore, then 26 as a junior. He’s up around 28 this season, with games of 33, 35 and 38 this year. Zenger is a demon in the open court and a master of the midrange and pull-up on the drive. He gets most of his points without forcing up deep shots.
Jayden Garrison Jayden Garrison 6'2" | CG Little River | 2021 State KS , senior, Little River:
Garrison has a style somewhat similar Zenger’s. He’s a physical ball handler who has total command of the court. He doesn’t score tons off the deep ball, although he’s certainly capable. He’s following up 23 points a game as a junior with 26.5 as a senior. Most importantly he’s the leader of the top 1A team in the state.
Alec Carlson, sophomore, Pawnee Heights:
The 6-foot-1 guard has only been held under 20 points three times this season. This kid is going to score a ton of points by the time he’s done. He’s currently at about a 24 point per game clip.
Britton Dutton Britton Dutton 6'0" | SG Argo Comm | 2023 State KS , sophomore, Ellinwood:
Similar to Carlson, Dutton is a guard who is going crazy at 2A Ellinwood. He burst on the scene with 18 per game as a freshman. He’s humming along with about 23 per game as a sophomore. He’s dynamite on the drive, gets a lot of points in transition, and can really shoot it.
Will Rau, senior, Veritas:
The 6-foot-4 athlete is just a handful for the small-school competition. He has six games with at least 25 points and is averaging about 20.
Drew Nicholson Drew Nicholson 6'6" | PF Hoisington | 2021 State KS , senior, Hoisington:
Like Zenger, Nicholson has been an elite scorer for Hoisington for several years. He was good for 17.4 points per game as a junior and has stepped that up to 19.4 as a senior. He has his Cardinals ranked #8 in 3A. His versatile game for a 6-foot-6 athlete is a lot of trouble for opponents. He dominates on the glass and is a threat to block every shot in the paint.
Trey Abasolo Trey Abasolo 6'1" | CG Mulvane | 2021 State KS , senior, Mulvane:
The 6-foot-1 senior is leading Mulvane in the #2 spot in 4A. He does some of everything, so he isn’t just a scorer. But he proved last year what he could do when he scored 22.9 points per contest. He’s at about that same pace this season, but has gone off for 40 in a game this season.
